Obama claims he does not want to raise taxes on the lower and middle income Americans, so he could have made the Bush tax cuts permanent, thereby assuring taxes on most taxpayers were stabilized. Then Obama could set out over the next two years to find a way to raise taxes on the top 1% or top 2%.

Even now, he is only talking about "extending the Bush tax cuts for the middle class." What is his problem with just saying these are the permanent tax rates, and be done with it? Then if he wants to make adjustments to the tax structure he can do so without waving around his damned ticking time bombs.
If the people wanted what you just proposed, they would have elected Romney. They didn't. They re-elected Obama, who unambiguously outlined what he proposed to do.

The problem you have is that regardless of who gets elected, you want the Republican policies to be enacted. Sorry, the GOP didn't have a Plan B. In essence, you want Obama to do what Romney would have done.

What's wrong with extending the entire Bush tax cuts? How may I count the ways?

The Bush tax-cuts are the #1 reason we have a debt at all today. According to the CBO, in 2000, had we not lowered those tax-rates, the entire debt would have been paid by 2006.

They were also sold as a jobs program. History showed us that as a jobs program they were a total failure.

What these tax-cuts were, were a means of enriching the already rich and starving the beast. By creating deficits the GOP hoped to kill off social programs that they never wanted in the first place.

Its amazing how the conservative keep think Obama was the only one who came up with this plan. The GOP simply agreed to this because they assumed Obama would be gone and not have to worry about this, but it backfired, and now they have boxed themselves into a corner.

That's right, they believed their own propaganda about how Romney was going to win in a landslide and failed to consider a "Plan B," if they lost. This was an interesting observation from the Boston Globe:

Private jets line up at Logan as Romney backers arrive in Boston for election night party

By Beth Healy, Globe Staff

Private jets were streaming into Boston’s Logan International Airport Tuesday afternoon, officials said, as Mitt Romney’s well-heeled supporters arrived for his post-election [victory] party in the Seaport District.

Edward Freni, director of aviation for Logan, said an unusually large number of Gulfstream corporate jets were looking to park at the airport by late afternoon on election day. Logan had accommodated 80 of them by 4:30 p.m., roughly double the 40 to 50 it sees on a typical day, he said.

Why weren't you RWNJ's kicking and screaming for balanced budgets throughout the Bush Regime? Hypocrites.
We were upset with Bush's spending, McCain was so mad, he referred to bush as spending like a "drunken sailor." But then Bush was running up small deficits compared to 0bama's $1.3 trillion plus each and every year.

The TEA party is not the president, they did not pass 0bamacare, they wanted the Bush tax cuts to be permanent.

You liberals have no qualms in blaming Bush for everything, so why not treat 0bama like a man, as you did with Bush? You can't bring yourselves to hold 0bama accountable, because in your hearts you fell he is not up to the challenge, does not know what he is doing, so he can't be held accountable. Is it because Bush was white, and 0bama is just a black man? Is that why you give 0bama a pass? You bigots treat 0bama with the soft bigotry of low expectations.

At least if Romney had won, we would be talking about how we can unleash the economy and get people back to work, but instead we are talking about spending increases.

How many months will it take 0bama to hit $20 trillion in new debt, 60 million on food Stamps, and 10% unemployment? Be honest, if these things come to pass, will you finally open your eyes, and admit we made mistake in electing 0bama?

You do realize the 2009 budget was a $1.2 trillion deficit the moment Obam stepped into office as a result of Bush's last budget...

Now if you want to blame Obama for not reducing the $trillion deficit, then go ahead, but he didn't create the $trillion deficit, he inherited that one.

He voted for the debt he "inherited."

Which included the $700 billion TARP, of which $350 billion was reserved for president-elect 0bama, and it was considered a one time expenditure for a national emergency. 0bama has made that the new norm. BTW, TARP has been paid back, so you can subtract it from Bush's deficit.
