It is safe to say that all human beings like to tell ourselves stories that are self serving when we fail.
So for conservatives to tell themselves self serving stories about why they lost the election is understandable.
Yet, the self serving stories they tell reveal the true ugly nature of much of conservative political thought.
Conservatism at its core is exclusionary, distrustful of democracy, accepting of gross inequality, and reactionary.
So for conservatives believing that only losers vote for Democrats is completely inline with their worldview.
They can't help themselves. Whenever you talk to a conservative about this nation, you understand that their standard view is to consider huge numbers of their fellow citizens as a danger to the continued existence of the nation.

Oh this is rich. Support rigged supreme court decisions that basically call corporations people and allow unlimited tonnes of cash to be dumped into an election - then turn around and complain about crony capitalism. This stuff can't be made up.

This is where the self-delusion of democrats comes into play. A corporation made up of people can't do political contributions but a union made up of people can.
Citizens United simply leveled the playing field against the previous monopoly position of unions which overwhelming vote for democrats.

If you want to solve that issue write to your congress-critter and have them amend the constitution to ban both in participating. Simple as that.

Conservatives do believe that a huge number of Americans are moochers and takers who are destroying the nation. This is an objective fact.
Conservatives do favor cutting taxes for the wealthy. This is an objective fact.
Conservatives have spent the last two years introducing more legislation to stop abortion and talking about birth control.
Conservatives do want to keep military spending extremely high. It is in their budgets and their talking points.
Conservatives have introduced draconian papers please immigration laws.
Conservatives did oppose a religious building being built on the basis that it was the wrong religion in the wrong location and that those people had to prove they weren't terrorists or associated with terrorists before they could exercise their constitutional rights, and they were pushing the government to deny those people their constitutional rights.
Conservatives do oppose gay marriage. And they push for legislation to put that belief into law.
Conservatives although this one is both political parties have demonized china.
Conservatives do worship gun culture and have introduced all sorts of concealed carry laws.
These are the actual policy positions of conservatives and this is the legislative agenda.
The conservative talking points about freedom or individual responsibility are completely irrelevant to their legislative agenda.
