Trade schools that train people for what jobs?

Yes you can easily find jobs that need mechanical engineers or other skilled trades. Here and there. Yet how many of those jobs are there actually?

I'm all for supporting Trade Schools, I would like to see more of them too. We just have to be realistic about what good they'll do in this modern World Economy.

Please show me the so called fiscally conservative elected politician who has actually voted for increased revenue/taxes.

The ole poor people are fraudsters ripping off the system conservative lie. I don't even entertain conspiracy theories or anecdotal tales about my cousin or my friend or some woman some conservative saw in the store one day.

The reality is if there is so called fraud, then it is on the conservatives in government to show it and not just insist that it' happening just because it makes their anti-poor people rants seem more reasonable.
You know you could have googled "medicaid fraud" before claiming it's also some crazy conservative conspiracy and saved yourself from looking ignorant.....too late...but here you go, have someone read it to you.

I'm practically speechless as this has been a problem for decades, I figured pretty much everyone knew about it but oh wait, you are so partisan you are in denile just because you don't want to face reality.

I went to a private college and got the max Pell Grant as well as a tuition equalization grant from the state. Many states also provide grants for college for their residents.

Also, when did you go to college? Most private colleges today are pretty expensive. I do think people can still work their way through a state school and especially a community college, but not many private schools can a kid work their way through today. I don't know of any top private colleges with tuition less than $15K, which is what most young high school grads can expect to make with no job experience and competing in today's job market with people with degrees willing to work in all sorts of lower level positions.

With what I've paid into the system over the years, you bet your bottom dollar I'll take anything they give me. Trust me, I still pay in more than I take. My definition of freeloading isn't taking what you qualify for, it's not contributing to the support of the system. It's one thing to support it and use it and quite another to just take from it.

Not a lot of young going into electric or plumbing.
More trades workers are retiring than entering the field.

What good will an electrician or plumber do ?
I guess you'll find out when you need one and can't find one.

I can't help but get the vibe that you're comparing scholorships earned through a display of academic excellence and discipline that allow a young adult to go to an esteemed war college with a perpetual welfare check that some people seem more than happy collecting every single month. I'll also bet that your co-worker isn't referring to people who are short term down and out, but rather those perpetual types that expect the handouts as if they think someone owes them a living.
