there are plenty of highter paying jobs even in times of high unemployment .
they cant get folks to do skilled manual jobs like electrician . bricklayer . carpenter, mechanic etc ...even in the health industry ,always wanting dental assistants, nurses , long tern care givers , teachers even law enforcement and plenty of opportunities to be trained for these special skill jobs mostly at a reasonable if any cost .
No there is not plenty of high paying jobs just look at all the college graduates who can not find any of them.
but like i said you have to put your self OUT to actually LEARN these trades/professions , other just sitting in front of a computer bemoaning about how unfair it is .
if you dont have a job that pays you a suffficent wage get of your ass and do something about it, posting in a chat room wont get it done.
Yes the I got mine so who care about you selfish attitude. Again not everyone is smart enough or has the money to do that you can say it is excuses all you want but it is just the truth.
if all else fails you can join the military and get trained to do a worth while job and get your free health insurance your bitching about , hey you might get shot at but thats the breaks .
i know many folks who were stuck in a dead end job joined up learnt some skills .and when retired set up in business on their own and are making upwards of $200.000 a yr is that enough for you ?
Sure you did but just because you know some people who got out of min wage jobs and did better does not prove anyone can.

They're not "illegal" anymore.

Remember obamas amnesty?

The lefties ignore that fact.

No one expects these corporations to pay an exorbitant wage, these jobs were never meant to raise a family on, they were meant as a supplement or for a high school kid to earn a few extra bucks, but it would not hurt them to pay a decent wage of maybe 10 bucks an hour, they would not go broke. Has anyone been to the grocery store lately? Is it any wonder people are turning to food stamps?

If unskilled people are paid more than they are worth, then by comparison skilled people will be paid less than they are worth. If skilled people are paid less than they are worth there will be no incentive to become skilled. If doctors didn't make twenty times more than burger flippers then people wouldn't invest the time and energy to become a doctor. This whole concept is proven beyond any reasonable doubt by the failure of every communist society on the planet.
Right it is always the employees fault never the employers. I mean employers never pay less then they can or treat workers like crap. How do you know Pamela could do a better job maybe that is all she is capable of moving up? So people become doctors just to make money that is the only reason? Your right it is not the companies responsible to pay her more it is the taxpayers. How do you know how much unskilled people are worth even? This is just a stupid post from someone who only care about him/her self.

I have read articles on the history of the min wage and have not read anywhere it says it is not supposed to be a wage to live on. Seems this is just the greedy business way of making an excuse to not pay their employees well.

Are they at least protesting in English ?
Something of a route for 'gainful employment' would be great. Just an example, but say a 3-year plan to gainful employment. First year, minimum wage. A dollar raise for each of the first 3 years of service to the company. After 3 years, an employee makes $10.25 per hour. And yes, individuals who want to make a career out of fast food and works full time should have at least a self-paid healthcare option that was discounted due to pooling, vacation, a stock option, 401K option, etc. If these companies did this, it could also work to their advantage in that they could increase the quality of their customer service, being that decent folks would stick with their jobs and take them more seriously.

It's as simple as this....buy a franchise and pay the wages that you feel are fair.

Yet again, with the left, feelings trump reality.

See. You got this the other way around.
FIRST you prove yourself by doing a damn good job and taking it seriously.
THEN you get rewarded.

What you propose is like saying giving all kids As at the beginning of the year would make them more diligent students.

Hmmmm, $1160.00 a month is enough for anyone to live off of, gosh those people are such slackers! they must be buying dope and alcohol instead of food and paying rent!
<heavy on the sarcasm>
