Great day for the defiant Palestinian people...none have known more death, strife, war and destruction more than them. They deserve this.

If they can develop an economy...
let alone a power plant or septic system they might one day have a country.

Of course the last 65 years spent in something resembling cooperation...
and they would have had all of those things before 1960.

c'est la vie

US, Israel, Canada, the Czech Republic, Palau, Micronesia, Nauru, Panama and the Marshall Islands.

These are the 9 states that wanted Palestine to remain a victim to Israeli Terror. I knew the first 2 and CR were going to vote no...not sure why the islands there voted no or Panama.

They would have those if they weren't constantly attacked by Israel without repercussion. They are an oppressed state. I suppose the US only hates Apartheid states when its White governments like South Africa doing it...dunno don't care this is a great day for Palestine!

Really? Not the people of Darfur? Not the Chechens? Not the Congolese?

No. They have all suffered that but none as long and as horrible as the Palestinians. Plus the US has helped most of these correct? Other than the Chechens.

UN upgrades Palestinian status, bolstering statehood claim - World News

The U.N. General Assembly approved a resolution on Thursday giving implicit recognition to Palestinian statehood despite threats by the United States and Israel to punish the Palestinian Authority by withholding funds for the West Bank government.

Now let's see if the US will carry through on its threat.

I wonder if Israel would oppose them having a 'Nuclear Power Plant' of their own?
