The Environmental Protection Agency announced that BP is temporarily ineligible from receiving future contracts with the federal government, according to Bloomberg.

The ruling follows the Nov. 15 settlement agreement between BP and the Justice Department in which BP pleaded guilty to 14 criminal charges and agreed to pay $4.5 billion in penalties.

Obama received $112,374 from BP and its employees during the 2012 cycle, according to the Center for Responsive Politics. Obama has been the largest beneficiary of BP money in the last 20 years.

The suspensions do not apply to current BP products. There are negotiations taking place to remove the suspension altogether.

So let me get this straight. He invests TAX money in green energy ventures that go bankrupt. He invests HIS OWN money in Big Oil.

Good for him. American people lose out.

BP has invested BILLIONS in green energy ventures..........including over 1 billion in 2011, with $400 million in their wind portfolio in the US. (They were one of the first companies to invest heavily in solar energy, decades ago).

BP is a ENERGY company.

Obama’s Murky Relationship With BP
So, lacking a legitimate source for this story, the OP had to resort to the Free Beacon, a biased agenda source founded by Michael Goldfarb, a former Republican staffer and writer.

To give one the flavor of this source, the Beacon also made a misogynist attack on the woman who asked a question at the presidential debate, calling her a "Party Girl."

The article did not say Obama made an investment. It said he received 112k. If you do a little research the most likely scenario is that it was campaign contribution. In fact, what you will find is that BP maded contributions to both sides of the aisle. This is really a non-story other than a general comment on PAC's involvement politics for bothe Reps and Dems.

And he was in the tank with Goldman Sachs which is why his buddy John Corzine never had to spend a day in jail for stealing those clients money and losing it on high risk reckless investments.

BTW, political contributions under a banner don't tell the whole story. May be BP employees preferred Obama to Romney, despite of Zomney's advertising that Obama was anti-BP and anti-business and anti-capitalism.

Dems condemned Romney for it, very recently.

They have different rules, rules for everyone except themselves.

No they didn't. They condemned him for sheltering his money overseas.

There's a reason he refused to show his tax returns. The betting money is that they would prove him to be a tax cheat who took advantage of the 2007 amnesty on illegal Swiss accounts to avoid prosecution.
