The one responsible for this whole fake "crisis" is Boehner. If America goes over the edge, it's all on him. Prior to Boehner's teabagger house of representatives, America never had a big issue over the debt limit. Boner and his pals will be held accountable if this goes wrong. And they've seen the figures on it, too. They'll cave or they'll be out of office in two years.

Don't be so quick to forget, people voted Congress (Republicans + Democrats) in as well. It's a whole cluster of people who can't do their jobs. Obama is NOT entirely to blame here.
Do you understand what Obama has proposed in his budget? More spending, tax cuts and also wants Presidential privilege to raise the debt ceiling without Congressional approval, but you don't hear much about that do you? He isn't telling the country how great it would be for him to have a free hand in raising the debt ceiling? Can you imagine what he would do with the debt ceiling if he had the to power to raise it? So if the Republicans don't agree with Obama's "plan" (to further destroy the US), blame the Republicans because they didn't along with a President that is reckless in spending and getting the US into further debt and we end up like Greece. And who will come to the rescue? China. Bit by bit they will buy America.

We can see how patriotic Obama is. Current debt ceiling is projected to reach $16.365 trillion in December. If every man, woman and child would have had to pay $30,000 back at $9 trillion, what will they pay back at $17 trillion? at $18.5 trillion and counting? What would they be paying back if he had a free hand at raising the debt ceiling? YOU may benefit from him being so reckless, but your children and grandchildren will pay for it. Their existence would be merely to pay off debt.
If Obama raises the debt ceiling another $1.2 trillion, almost doubling the since he took office, explain to me where that money went? Clearly we aren't better off if he wants to raise it and have the power to continue to raise it without approval over the next 4 years.

Many of the Republicans who started making a fuss about it weren't in congress until 2010. Sure, much of the neo-cons who were in congress before the Tea Party became a factor decided to jump on the bandwagon. No doubt they're hypocrites if they were voting for these budget deficits under Bush.
In the end, all that's important is that raising the debt ceiling is no longer considered a routine vote.
