I think the teacher should have to earn point to take her (breaks) from a jail cell this is just so not right i would remove my children from that school and sue!!!
This sounds like a mother trying to escalate a situation that doesn't require escalation. The teacher is in her first year and it sounds like she just made a bad judgment call. If this is the only issue they've had so far and its been corrected then I see no reason to try to push for suspension.
Actually this is one of the things that has been suggested in our newest PBIS model, charging the kids their Eagle bucks (or whatever we're calling them) to go to their lockers during class, the bathroom, etc. This is in a high school.
Take some of the complaints up with the consultants who get paid big dollars to design these programs and the School Boards which adopt them.
Children are given time to use the restroom. KIds should not require extra time during class to do so unless there is a medical reason the teacher has been told about. Some kids will pee in their pants on purpose to try and challenge the teachers authority.

Yes, the "think tanks" of education.
Rewards for being good. Rather than punish bad behavior, reward good behavior and then let them use their rewards to do normal things not allowed today without paying for them.

every kid is on a different pee schedule.
I am sure at your place of employment you pee at the same time as everyone else.
Whatever the fee, whatever the reward, it is still bribery. Children need to learn for the sake of learning. Some deal making payoff is neither instructive nor informative.
By 2nd. grade a kid should know his bladder will need to be emptied. How to plan ahead and anticipate what will happen next is the next thing mom and the teacher need to focus on.

Oh, for Christ sakes! The child is seven! All bladders are not created equal nor do they develop at equal rates. A normal 7 year old can have a bladder from .5 to 9ozs in size. From your post I think that you would have been a great repressed Catholic nun.

My job isn't that structured but I typically use the restroom during my breaks or lunch periods. I doubt my employer would really care if I went outside of that time frame (unless it became a habit) but at the same time I try to go during my breaks.
As far as this story, there's a lot of info missing but either way I don't think the teacher should be suspended.
