In 2100, America will be a different country, nearly unrecognizable from the America of 2012. Yet all the things that will lead us to where we will be in 2100 are in place today. Here are my predictions for life in 2100.
-All Americans are forced to live in sustanable pre-planned cities built by the government. These cities will be built to house a population of slightly over 2 million and there will be one in each state. Due to population control laws, people will be limited in the number of children they can have so the government will see to it that the population never exceeds the sustainable amount. Everyone will be required to live in these sustainable cities of all skyscrapers unless they are in the agriculture industry. The cities we know today will be demolished for environmental reasons. Obamapolis will be the capital and will be the grandest of all the cities and be allowed a population of 4 million. In the center of all of the cities will be a grand plaza. All cities will be heavily fortified and under complete government control. Nobody goes in or out without government approval. All cities will be linked via high speed rail and air travel will be banned.
-The American leader will take the title "Obama" like the Roman kings took the title of Caesar. Obama Marcus II will be nearly a complete dictator kept in check only by a band of elite poets and artists and Congress, the Supreme Court, and the Constitution will be long gone. He will be worshiped by the American people as a deity along with all those who preceded him.
-People will no longer have a choice in their careers. The government will choose that for them. This keeps people from voluntarily choosing to go into agriculture in order to live outside of the cities. The dollar will be abolished and instead we will have the Amero, and all jobs will pay the same from restaurant operator to engineer, except for people working directly for the Obama will be paid double the average worker.
-Nowhere is free from surveillance and the Obama National Police will be the largest employer in the nation, keeping tabs on everybody at all times. Disobeying any laws will cause one to risk exile to Alaska and any conspiracy of even speech critical of the government will carry the death penalty. Every person will receive a schedule as to what they are supposed to be doing at what time of day. All cities have a mandatory curfew at 10PM and anybody caught outside after that is sentenced to life in prison unless they have one of the few jobs that require night shifts such as being on the Obama Police Force or in the healthcare industry. Every city has an alarm that can be heard from everywhere that periodically sounds between 9PM and 10PM to give people time to get home. Television will be available from until 12 midnight when it will go off the air and come back on at 6AM the next morning. All Americans will be required to pledge allegiance to America and the Obama every morning. The Internet as we know it is completely banned.
-For entertianment and recreation, people rely on government approved television, the opera, or ballet. Tobacco and Alcohol is highly illegal but everyone can receive a government approved supply of marijuana for recreational usage. Outdoor recreation outside of the cities is banned for environmental reasons. The government does not want any humans disturbing the natural landscape.
-Health laws are strictly enforced. Every person will be required to get so much exercise per day based on their metabolism and restaurants can only serve food that meets government-mandated health standards. Deviation from this is highly illegal and can result in imprisonment.
-The only allowed religion will be worship of Barack Obama and his successors, who will be seen as gods by the people of the era due to the propaganda surrounding them, much like Russian propaganda of their leader or North Korean propaganda concerning theirs. Atheism will be legal but all other religions will be banned with the penalty of exile. Homosexuality will be widely encouraged as means of population control and one of the requirements to be on the Obama's band of Poets is to be homosexual. Homosexuals will be able to purchase test-tube babies artificially breeded from the combination of each male's DNA. Public nudity will be the style and in fact it will be considered shameful to wear clothes unless climate warrants it.
-Foreign policy will be strictly isolationist, but America will remain a highly nuclear country with threat to anhilate any outsider who attempts to attack. Immigration to America is completely banned (if anybody even wanted to) and people from other countries aren't even allowed to visit.
-Everyone from birth is implanted with a microchip that uniquely identifies people. This microchip also allows the Obama Police Force to track everyone and arrest anyone for going where they should not go.
-Education will be required from age 4 through 26. All education will be split between males and females (to encourage homosexuality). Children will shipped to another city elsewhere in the country during their educational years and only be allowed to return home for 3 months in July. During your educational years, you are kept pretty much isolated from the outside world and only interact with your peers. After your educational years, you will be assigned to the job the government decides for you in the city the government chooses.
So get ready America. Most of us here today won't be alive to see this world but it is coming. Do you think you would like living in this society?

I see the "Balkanization" of the US, in which two liberal and two conservative nations are formed from the current USA. The two conservative nations will be based on the US constitution, but will only confer voting rights to land owners, as was the case with the initial US. The two liberal states will become police states, in which the "federal government" has more and more control over the lives of its citizens.
Keep in mind that the USSR collapsed under its own weight. Police states are not sustainable, as human nature seeks freedom.

Parts of America who don't support the utopian police state will attempt to break away but will be met with swift retaliation from the government. The coming civil war will be the bloodiest in this nation's history. Human life will not be valued by the liberal government as it will be accepted fact that humans are a parasite to the planet. It will also be accepted by the majority that freedom is evil because humanity requires the government to save it from itself. People will voluntarily give up their rights for the "greater good" of humanity and planet Earth. This propaganda will be fed to young people in the public school system and they will believe it whole heartedly. Homeschooling and private schooling will be outlawed so there will be no escape. Following the civil war, those who are still alive will be deported to the new environmentally sustainable cities that resemble the ones currently being built in China. All current cities will be completely demolished. By 2100 there will be little memory of freedom in America and people will have no knowledge of life in foreign nations due to complete American isolationism. The Obama educational will indoctinate everyone from ages 4-26 for all but three weeks of the year so that will be the only real influence young people will have growing up. So this will be a utopian/dystopian society in which people won't even want freedom because they will have no concept of it. American history classes will teach about how evil and terrible America was prior to the election of Barack Obama and his subsequent installation as dictator and how the current society is the greatest the world has ever known.
Here is my predictions, which seemed to have the same credibility as yours.
- All Americans will have achieved the singularity by 2070. yet only 20 years into that event a unknown terrorist organization unleasehes a virus into the newly made nano-immortal Americans. Soon when people die they awake again as nano-powered flesh eating zombies. By 2090 only the nation state of New York is left, the entire country wiped out by the horde.
- The 2100 America, now just New York City (the island) , will sustain itself mostly on seafood and large agrarianism floating in the sea.
- The success of new york city against the zombies will be due to the Flood walls, which were originally built to stop rising ocean levels.
- The president and a congress (what was left) and senate will still exist, though NYC is in a constant state of martial law.
- No one remembers who Obama is, other than he was the first black president in the time before
- Due to their immortality (due to the nano's), the NYC persons must have a license to have kids in order to control growth.
- all persons are implanted with a nano-bomb in their head that will blow up once the virus/death takes over and reanimation occurs.
- By 2100 plans will be made to start the reclaiming of America, the first targets will be Staten island followed by near shore islands off the US coast.

The invention of the hoverchair in 2035 will enable Americans to forgo the use of their legs entirely. At the same time, every remaining large corporation will merge into one enormous entity that will come to control all manufacturing, agriculture, and commerce and -- eventually -- government. The universal availability of robots will eliminate any need for increasingly obese Americans to work, so we will spend our lives watching TV, chatting online, and enjoying limitless food dispensed by helpful robots.
But there will be a terrible environmental cost. As the century moves on, entire cities will become despoiled by garbage, and eventually the atmosphere will become toxic to plant and animal life alike. In 2098 the mega-corporation that rules the Earth will announce an off-planet colonization project, and the remaining human residents will pilot their hover-chairs onto a big interstellar spaceship for a 2-year trip to the nearest star system...
which will end up lasting for 700 years, until a robot drone, on a scouting mission to Earth, discovers a tiny living plant inside an old boot living inside a refrigerator.
American history classes will teach about how evil and terrible America was prior to the election of Barack Obama and his subsequent installation as dictator and how the current society is the greatest the world has ever known.
