The video won't load for me but I really hope they're paraphrasing and she didn't really say that.

Atlanta isn't asking for a bailout.

Georgia is not one of my favorite places to live. However, I will say this about Atlanta. There are some issues in Atlanta, but to me, it is proof that a city can be majority Black and do good. Perhaps Detroit could follow Atlanta's example.

Savannah as well; they are majority Black. Tourism and manufacturing are heavy contributors.
I've been there several times; one of my favorite tourist spots.

I lived in the outskirts of Savannah for 18 months(the Georgetown section). It didn't seem that bad at all. Hot, humid summers and all of those bugs were a turn off.

There ought to be a quid pro quo," said Councilwoman JoAnn Watson, according to My Fox Detroit.

Nearly 75 percent of voters in Wayne County, which includes Detroit, voted for Obama on Nov. 6.

Alot of Whites are starting to move into the city of Atlanta now. Atlanta's murder rate, which was worse than Detroit's at one time(back in the 70s and 80s) has dropped alot and Atlanta has become much safer than it used to be.
If you read my post it's not simply being majority Black but the politics and tone its leaders took after Black rule came into being. Coleman Young took a more antagonistic approach towards the white community in Detroit where as Andrew Young was more cooperative.

The differences in approach probably stems from the two different strains of the Black population of both cities. Detroit's black population was relatively new, poorer and from the rural South whereas Atlanta had a long tradition of middle class Blacks, institutions of higher learning basically they were more pragmatic. Black power is nice but if you have no money or industry it's not going to do much good.

BTW Atlanta is barely a majority Black city today whereas Detroit is 92% Black.

He promised all of us a 3000% reduction in health insurance premiums.

Same for your comment. And you might also consider the use of Caps in their proper place too, for more credibility. Just sayin'.
