Smart move. Thank you Wal-Mart for keeping prices low. I no longer have to choose between buying hemmorhoid ointment and jock itch cream. I can now afford both. Makes my life much better.

From the stupid pansy ass link:

"Half of Bangladesh's clothing factories do not currently meet legal safety requirements."

Maybe the Bangladesh government should start enforcing their laws.

Honestly, they shouldn't pay to help one supplier. What they should do is simply say "All of our suppliers must do X,Y,Z" and then only purchase from suppliers who meet their standards. It's up to the suppliers to meet the goals not the other way around.

If their suppliers met all the safety standards, they could no longer afford to produce substandard goods for WalMart.

I want to see the unions get a toehold and drive them out of business.

and if they met safety requirements the price of Walmart goods would escalate and they would no longer do business with them.

Walmart isn't overseas to save the world, it's about profits derived from cheap labor and poor working conditions.
