BLS makes no claims that its data is omnipotent or that you can look at one number and determine the entire economy.
Would it help you to understand if I put [emphasis mine] before I typed that? Sorry, posting on C-D from your phone isn't nearly as easy as it sounds.

Wait till you see how spreading the wealth works out.

You think you're going to be better off by taking from the rich and giving to the poor who turn right around and head to their nearest China supplied store?

Just remember this quote the next time you think where the money will go when you play Robin Hood:

Quote:
The unprecedented shift in relative wealth and economic power roughly from West to East now under way will continue.

You have "centers" of economically relative wealth still here. You trying to play the Gate Keeper is only going to worsen your position in the world because you don't understand what's happening before your very eyes.

Default November jobs report: much better than expected

Analysts were saying that Sandy would have a big negative effect on both numbers. Just think how good they'd be w/o that boat anchor dragging them down. I heard a report on the radio last night on the way home from work that "underlying" economic factors were all looking positive, too. Wish I could remember the details.

Anyway, the recovery seems to be picking up a little steam. Still a way to go, but we're moving forward.

Definitely good news.

It would be a damn shame if the house Republicans drive us over the fiscal cliff and kill the momentum. But they seem to be willing to do exactly that.

350,000 people drop out of the labor force and are no longer counted as being 'employable' causing a phoney 7.7% unemploymwent rate. A pawltry 146,000 jobs created with more than half of them being government type jobs. Yup! we're doing much better.

Employers were already stretched thin but held off on hiring in October in the hopes a bad jobs report would sweep Romney to victory. Now that Obama is in for four more years, might as well hire the workers needed. And the hurricane left the unemployed too busy cleaning up to look for work.

It's only good news because you don't understand what's happening. You see a drop in a percentage and think it must be "great" but what you don't realize is how that percentage is calculated.

Maybe you should ask yourself how a report that basically says nearly everything is "unchanged" or "little changed" and you see a drop in the UE rate why that is...

If your economy was truly turning around at an anything but meager rate you'd be seeing a rise in the UE rate where millions of people that simply gave up looking for work started looking again and started being counted again in the equation.

This report basically said you're staggering along taking toe-length steps forward in your economy and here's the kicker. You're spending a trillion dollars a year that you don't have.

Would you say the person down the street with the gold, the cars and the toys all on credit was doing grand? No, because that would be silly. Relatively speaking, he looks like he is but when you factor that all of it was built by using someone else's money you'd start to see the entire picture.

You might be saying to yourself "we don't tax the rich enough" and "we should tax them to get our budget balanced" while at the same time completely ignoring the fact that (besides the percentage your leaders use for their own gain) people that are struggling aren't going to stop spending money on things made in China. In fact it will just get worse. If you "subscribed" to the BLS email updates you would know that your azz is being handed to you in things manufactured from pretty much around the globe.

You can read about that here:
http://www.bls.gov/news.release/arch...4_12062012.pdf

The clear picture is made even more clear as you see manufacturing moving from China to C. Eurasia and after that it will move to MENA and then sub-Sahara Africa. Your problems are just starting in terms of economic history of the planet.

The depths of denial some Obama-haters go to in order to see a positive as a negative to validate their irrational hatred.

There you go. That's pretty much how it is.

Concurring...

Yes, of course.

The Labor Force declining from 155,779,000 in October to 154,953,000 in November is good for America. All those workers not paying taxes, yeah, boy, that will really fund Social Security and Medicare.

Labor Force Participation Rate at 63.5%. Check. I salute all of you courageous folks who so desperately want a 250% FICA/SECA payroll tax increase.

144,039,000 Employed October 143,549,000 Employed November
------------------------------------------
490,000 Americans losing their jobs right before Christmas is good for America.

And if those selfish people don't want to work, you'll gladly give up 16% of your income to fund Social Security since they aren't paying enough taxes.

116,045,000 Full-Time Employed October
115,515,000 Full-Time Employed November
-------------------------------------------------------
530,000 Americans losing their Full-Time Job is no being deal -- you are moving forward.

27,993,000 Part-Time Employed October
28,034,000 Part-Time Employed November
-----------------------------------------------------
41,000 more Part-Time Jobs in lieu of Full-Time Jobs is good. Part-Time is better...America needs more lattes and Big Mac's.

88,204,000 Not In Labor Force October
89,221,000 Not In Labor Force November
---------------------------------------------------
1,017,000 dropped out of the work force.....among them...

LNU05026642
2,433,000 October
2,505,000 November
--------------------------
72,000 more people who only sporadically look for work because no jobs are available and....

LNU05026645
813,000 October
979,000 November
-----------------------
166,000 who are so discouraged at the prospect of getting a job they they threw in the towel and gave up.

Spreading the Good News...

But 166,000 gave up looking for work.

How sad is it when there are more frustrated people giving up looking for work than there are getting jobs?

But hey -- things are better -- moving forward --- Recovery!

Not excited either...

Not at the 69.7% you need to keep Social Security and Medicare from collapsing in a few years.

Oh, but I forgot, you're more than willing to have your FICA taxes increased from 6.2% to 16.4% to keep Social Security from becoming non-existent.

I salute your lack of selfishness and your total and complete willingness to forgo your life-style and standard of living and move in with your parents or in-laws, or brothers or sisters or some people you "met" on CraigsList just so you can have enough money to pay your Netflix subscription.

Participating....

Employment ducks Superstorm Sandy's punch - Yahoo! News
The government said Sandy, which slammed the densely populated East Coast in late October, did not have a substantive impact on the data.
