Leaners can't understand that the old ODs were worn much of the time by people who went to Military Surplus stores when their fatigues wore out. Of course, anybody and everybody wore those old uniforms in the 1950s and 1960s. I don't think that only vets wear all those "uniforms" of today, just as not back then.

I never wore any part of my uniform much after I got out. I did wear a sweater occasionally.

I always have bits and pieces on as most I know do also. I still wear my M-65 field jacket too. It's usually mixed and matched with jeans, though those who just got out wear a bit more. I only wear my BDU M-81s and MARPAT pants when I'm out on the range in some kind of training/practice.

I like OD green, tan and black t-shirts as well as hats. I wear a Ace of Spades death card OD green hat a lot too. It freaks some people out and I get questions about it. It is kind of funny when some 9-10 hot stuff gal starts staring and her metro boyfriend gets jealous. lol

You can't help that, it just is what it is. Most of us including myself are always armed as well. We usually have some sort of tactical knife with us too.

You never give all of your former life up. In civilian life...smart folks just KNOW who not to ***k with.

I agree. You just can't beat the M-65.

I've had to replace my original liner once because it got tore up from a 1911 .45 Government hammer I often carry. The jacket itself is still in very good shape. I was thankful all items like that were yours to keep. I guess they believe in cooties and stuff. lol

I still have and wear both my boots too.

My favorite fishing hat and watch.

You'll need a better watch than those foo-foo girly man ones. This G-Shock will take a recoil blast of a 12 guage shotgun... point blank from the buttpad to the concrete. It's also water resistant to 200 meters.

Some "knives" to cut your snack......
