Has anyone seen this story? I haven't seen it reported in the MSM. I can't believe this is happening to one of our troopers. The government should get involved to have this Marine released.

You have no idea what may or may not be going on behind the scenes to help this guy. Not everything involving state department business like this becomes or should become fodder for the media.

I feel bad for the guy, but how idiotic is it to bring a firearm into a foreign country.

I thought you folks were sticklers about obeying the laws of foreign countries that others might enter? Furthermore, when have you ever had a problem before with rough treatment of prisoners? Is this more of the military fetishism where we're supposed to be more horrified when someone in uniform is mistreated than the rest of us?

He should have understood the laws while going into a foreign country.

Sovereignty is a ***** and you military people need to get out of your ivory towers. The world doesn't revolve around you, even though I know you are all taught differently.

I fail to see the significance of him being a Marine. Has nothing to do with the issue.

He took a oath to protect you and your country knowing the dangers that he could face in combat, including getting killed. We owe it to him to get him out.

We owe it to him to get him out because he is an American citizen that appears to be being railroaded by this POS Mehican government and his life is in danger. Not because he was a Marine.

He breaks the laws of another country while in that country and he should get a pass because he is a marine why?
