Well you think you're arguing against me but you're actually proving my point. America acquired land in 1848 from Mexico and settled it. And now it is an accepted part of America.
Israel acquired Gaza in 1949. But now you and others are saying they can't settle it because it isn't theirs.
So let them settle it as they wish with no outside interference for a century and a half as America did. Then come back to me in in the year 2163 and if the people in Gaza still do not consider themselves Israelis I will grant your argument is valid.
It's not that simple. Nevadans are American citizens with constitutionally protected rights. Palestinians have no such rights. They are a people without a country. Ironically, the creation of Israel was for that very reason.
Try, "like people in Arizona building a house in south Nogales!" East Jerusalem or anywhere else on in the West bank ain't Israel.
I'm not going to try that because I prefer reality. Reality is that the UN established part of the area for Israel and part of it for an Arab state. The Israelis respected this but the Arabs immediately invaded and they lost. They then conducted decades of terrorism and threats, resulting in two more wars which they also lost. Yet Israel eventually gave in to demands and let them have Gaza. Which they promptly used as a staging ground for yet more terrorist attacks.
Now they want everyone to consider Israelis war criminals and unprovoked aggressors.

The first mistake was moving into their home to create a Jewish state when that Jewish state should of been created in part of Germany.

Also, Nevada was ceded to the United States in 1848 but did not become a state until 1864 and did not have a massive influx of arms and propaganda fomenting unrest as the occupied territories do. And also also, the people of the West Bank were under Jordan and the people of Gaza were under Egypt prior to the territories being taken by Israel in later wars and yet nobody agitated for them to be returned. And also also also, the reason they are people without a country is that when they were given a country by the same UN action that founded Israel they decided they wanted Israel too and attacked. They lost their state because they launched a war to destroy a neighboring state and were instead destroyed by that state.

After the UN gave the Jews part of Palestine that the UN shouldn't of given to the Jews to begin with. That is the original mistake. Also, give it up with the whole Nevada comparison it isn't even remotely close to being the same thing.
As usual, Huckabee is mostly correct.
He's generally a sharp, level-headed guy. Just because you don't agree with him or are bigoted against his religious background doesn't mean you're correct to call him an idiot or similar.
I have read the history before, and up until the 1920s the area belonged to the Palestinians. They had their country stolen from them by the British and then had it given to the Jews, so yeah, I can understand their frustration and desire to have their own state and be able to control their own borders which would prevent Israel from expanding into their country (what is left of it.)
