Just for an instant let's consider 'income equality' is indeed a real concept that can be implemented.
Line up everyone and give them the same amount of money.
To think this would solve any problem is naieve as once the money is handed over, 'individual responsibility' would then have to be exercised to make the most of the money given.
Guaranteed some individuals would make better use of their cash than others. Then we have an inequality in 'wealth', which is where we started.
Income equality efforts simply move individual responsibility downstream to create further social problems.

There are no income inequality efforts underway anywhere in this country. Income equality can never be achieved. Ever. Five year olds know that. It is, however, a stretch to imagine that a multi-national fast food chain could not pay workers the minimum wage laws on the books in any of the 60 states and remain profitable. Mexico receives 52 Billion dollars a year in American dollars sent back to family in Mexico by individually irresponsible individuals downstream of the real talent of their betters, who despite their seven figure salaries manage to have to file multiple bankruptcies and often turn to drugs and alcohol when things don't line up for them like they should.
Should a janitor make the same as a rocket scientist? How is it fair that the doctor makes so much more than the lawn care worker? We need the government to fix this! What do you think? Is it time for mandatory income equality?
I think it is a misleading question.
I am pretty far to the left politically, yet neither I nor anyone I know advocates 100% income equality. Society could well decide that the work of one person was worth twice that of another, or three times more, or even ten times more. That would not be inconsistent with economic justice.
However, what we are seeing today is a system where top mangers can make 300 times or 400 times more than average employees, plus pay lower effective tax rates. That's not an economy, it's a racket.
Given that I have never--literally never--heard anyone argue that the government should force income equality, I think we can safely classify this as a troll thread.
