Of course it does so I have the freedom to say just because I don't agree with gay marriage doesn't mean that I am anti gay people. See the difference? People cannot help what attractions they have but they also don't need to legalize them to the detriment of society.
There is no logical reason to object aside from bias and hatred.
Legalizing SSM will not in any way detriment society.
They claim that same-sex marriage will lead to all sorts of ills ... then they claim that if the word 'union' is simply substituted for the word 'marriage', none of those ills will occur.
And they can't figure out why fewer and fewer people are taking them seriously...
You could have fooled me with all the wars in the world and protests we are having at home.
What wars? Syria? Afghanistan? Get a freakin' clue...
The 50s that you worship so reverently saw the Korean War (I know, I know... they never mentioned that in a Fathers Knows Best episode, did they?) with over half a million dead and millions wounded. And the wars of the 1950s, from countless African wars to the Soviet invasions of the GDR and Hungary, Suez and French Indo-China... and you think we'ev got anything close to that nowadays?
And... "protests we are having at home"? What, a protest in the Michigan statehouse? Compared to the Civil Rights movement? Compared to lynchings?
Then why are we having law passed that affect the majority? The very meaning of marriage is changing that is centuries old.
What a bizarre thing to say. Every law affects the majority. And, in a constitutional democracy, the majority does not always get exactly what they want. We have principles to follow. The courts interpret our constitutions and strike down laws as required in order to follow those constitutional principles.
So far, every state has dealt with same-sex marriage in their own way. Nothing has been imposed on any individual state - and that's the way it should be. I don't know why anyone would argue with this, unless they don't believe in our system of government.

You still haven't shown any proof of SSM being a detriment to society. There are plenty of places with SSM, how are they falling apart that was caused by SSM?
