Let's make a deal, the lefties will ban abortions when the righties give up guns that kill six year old children. Same difference. Right?
It'll be like negotiating a fiscal cliff.

You are not the majority. Right now support for gun control is at about 54%. Once there is majority support for it in 75% of states, repeal of the Second Amendment is a possibility.
Nobody is going to repeal the 2nd Amendment. However, there are efforts to help people understand what it says. The meaning of the Amendment is very misunderstood.

Evidently we need to ban all weapons or possible weapons so kids can be "safe".
The following is borrowed from another thread and written by Big George which pretty much sums up the uselessness of all the hyperbole and hysteria within this thread. Darn those semi-auto knives
What do you think would actually prevent another tragedy?

"Last Friday's heinous crime in Newtown, Connecticut is just one in a long-line of such massacres. It is not something new, and it's undoubtedly not going to be the last time something like this happens. It just happens to be in forefront of our minds right now.

Also this past Friday, a man stabbed 22 kids outside a school in China. Fortunately, none of them died. However, this falls on the heels of a similar incident in 2010 when 20 students were stabbed to death, and another 50 injured. Another similar attack in 2010 left 8 children dead. And in August of this year, a school attack left several more students stabbed. And that's in China. Is there something wrong with the Chinese?

And many people are completely unaware of similar school shootings in Scotland. The Dunblane School Massacre, the Hungerford Massacre, and the Cumbria Shootings.

We could also talk about the The École Polytechnique Massacre, in Canada. Or the Erfurt massacre, in Germany. Or the Ma’alot Massacre in Israel. Or perhaps we should talk about the Beslan School Hostage Crisis, in Ossetia/Russia. Weren't there almost 400 people killed in that "little debacle"?

This is a problem that's bigger than guns, or video games, or nationalities, or drugs, or mental illness. Worst of all, I don't think any of us really know how to go about stopping it."

This right winger wants these weapons banned.

But compared to other conservatives, you're probably considered as a minority of the right.

The 2nd amendment does not give carte Blanche to own any arm available. So the American people will determine which ones folks can legally possess. It's quite simple really.

As is the fact SCOTUS has ruled on it in the past not to mention the last ban (that was allowed to expire) did absolutely nothing except sell more guns in a short period of time according to studies that were done. Before the "it was right wing propaganda studies" screaming starts, one of the studies was done at U.C. Berkeley that well known bastion of conservatism.

There's nearly one gun for every American.

Knowing that there's far less weed (or insert your favorite go to drug) houses than guns in America how do you think they'd go about checking to see who is in compliance and who's not?

Why that would be door to door search and seizures...

Be careful what you ask for, you just might get it.
Raids? More imagination. We don't need to do any of that. As long as you keep these death machines at home no problem. Statistically the gun is more likely to be used on the owner than in self defense.
