Note this is a serious question and not one of those "why are Republicans racist" type threads that are just an excuse to start a bash conservatives party.

I haven't watched Bill O'Reilly in quite a while. When I last was watching him regularly he was saying Obama was not a socialist, the country was not headed to ruin, everyone had the best interests of the country at heart, etc. Whenever he had Glenn Beck on he basically disagreed with everything Beck said.

Last night I watched him and was blown away at the vitriol. Secular progressives are ruining the country. Our culture is being systematically destroyed. The administration is terrible. He now sounds like Glenn Beck.

My question is not whether you agree with him or not but rather is directed at people who have been keeping up with his show to ask why is the Bill O'Reilly of today so vastly different from the one in the past? Was there some event that tipped him over the edge? Has he been steadily sliding further against the left?

Like all good businessmen, he's pandering to the wants of his customers.
I'm obviously not a huge O'Reilly fan, but I know that he's smarter than to believe all that stuff. He's simply an entertainer, and to be a successful entertainer you have to give the audience what it wants.

He's just talking common sense.

You cant spend more than you make.

If you have no money, you must cut spending.

If you tax the job creator too much, why should you keep their companies open? What incentive is there for them to expand and grow?

These are the things he talks about.
