The 2nd Amendment says Americans have a right to own guns and it doesn't say a damn thing about "only if used for hunting" or anything like that. This means that the Supreme Court wil have little choice but to strike the vast majority of gun laws. The Constitution says the people can have them, period.

There is a well established black market in the USA for guns. That black market exists because some people want to get things like assault rifles and sniper rifles when they're illegal where that person lives. Ban gun ownership and the black market stands to make a killing selling guns to people.

If we were to successfully repeal the 2nd amendment and then illegalize all gun ownership in America, you'd never be able to enforce such laws. The best you would manage over the long term would be limiting gun ownership to organized crime and anyone willing to buy the guns from them. It'd take at least a century to get that far too.

Now let's face reality here: The 2nd Amendment isn't going anywhere. The process of repealing it is too difficult and there is too much opposition. Any solution to gun violence in America must address the root causes of violent behavior in people. Figure out why people go on homicidal rampages in the first place and start fixing things from there. Taking all the guns away just ain't happening. If you could take them away, people would just kill each other with kitchen knives or whatever else they could find.

Gun control is the same as banning all guns?

Then it's take away the knives ?

If a person is driven by revenge they will find a weapon and hurt/kill people.

Those children were wounded in this attack. The last knife attack in China KILLED 20 children and wounded 50 others.

China has a growing "social revenge" problem as well using knives.

China knife attack: Teen kills eight, wounds five | WJLA.com
A Chinese teenager has killed eight people and wounded another five in a knife attack in the country's northeast.
Guns have an immediacy that other weapons don't. (Knives would be a exception, but I would say its psychologically harder to get up close and slash than shoot).

You want to use a pipe bomb, you have to learn how to make one, get all the stuff, etc. Gives people time enough to change their minds, and back out.

A gun, all you ave to do is pick it up and shoot it. It doesn't even have to be yours.

But that can't account for any of the difference. Nah.
People like you blather on about the constitution, but you would throw out the rights of the accused because you like to hang em high and fast with out a trial, but don't touch my Second amendment. As Mark Twain said nothing needs reforming like other peoples rights.

You have to ban the word itself...utter "gun" and you get fined and/or locked up.

Are you certain? The ACLU and liberals believe in Doctor patient privilage. Imagine how much easier it would be to restrict who buys a gun if the authorities knew who was a potential risk. I don't know a single gun owner, gun shop owner or gun enthusiest that believes that mentally disturbed people should be allowed access to guns.
You are so eager to punish the many who have never violated a gun law, or committed a crime. There are far less who would be punished if doctors were required to release the names of patients who express violent or dangerous fantacies. Why not go after those who stand the most potential for wrong doing? I mean you want to violate constitutional rights, go after those who do the crimes.
