It's already started and in the link is a prime example that validates the headline. For some reason the mental heath debate is being shoved aside and we all know why. It is to implement a agenda to impose strict gun control where none is needed. The core issue is not the guns that were used, it was the mental stability of the assailant. That is what needs to be debated...........not guns. It seems that psychiatric drugs was a common theme with this shooter and the Batman shooter. So in essence we should be diligent and not let the media dictate terms and set the narrative as they are doing.

Its good you bring up the cause of such problems as the Newtown CT Massacre as being mental illness rather than guns which are only designed to kill. The real problem is that this society attachs a stigma to mental illness. The quickest way to trash your future is to admit you are mentally ill and seek traetment. Just try to get a job with this fact in your resume! In many professions you can't get professional credentials if you are mentally ill and even have it under control. Would you want a Doctor who is being medicated for bipolar disorder? Do you remember what happened to Senator Tom Eagleton in 1972 when he admitted he had been treated by electroshock therapy for depression? It blew his future in politics to pieces. In America its Catch 22 for the mentally ill. So what do we do? American Gulags for the millions of us who are sufficently deviant to qualify for this modern version of the scarlet letter.

Interesting that the pro-gun lobby is suddenly concerned about mental health. Traditionally, conservatives have been strong advocates of shutting down mental health services. They've also favored putting drug addicts in jail rather than in treatment programs.

Yes I do remember it very well. Once the media was made aware of it they destroyed his VP chances as well as McGoverns judgment to be president.

Many have no real experience with those with mental issues. I had a neighbor that totally lost his mind. I tried to get help for this guy, talked to local police, etc. Very very little progress. Our country just does not want to acknowledge the mental health issues.

It's probably no accident that the number of mass killings is so much higher under Obama than at any time before.

Obamacare certainly isn't making access to mental health one iota better.
