What kind of gun was he referring to when he made that suggestion insinuating violence? Was it a revolver? A semi-automatic pistol, shotgun or rifle? Or was it a Daisy Red Ryder BB Gun? It is a legitimate question now that he is going to have a BIG FIGHT as it is now apparent that he will push for stricter gun control over Constitutional Citizens of the United States. The question is............would Obama use those words today to fight the pro gun lobbyists and law abiding firearm owners throughout the United States who will fight him tooth and nail to prevent him from passing harmful legislation that will subvert the 2nd Amendment?

He was quoting a movie made in Chicago starring Kevin Costner. He didn't mean it literally.

Besides, this is a duplicate thread

Obama: ‘If They Bring a Knife, We Bring a Gun' - is it over? Is the Tucson shooting the last nail in the coffin?

A figurative one, one that doesn't really kill people - unlike the guns you are championing here.
