Is there a line, and maybe this is it with the CT shooting where people will say, OK you can own a gun but we don't need semi auto box fed guns that can shoot 200 rds a min, and 100 round drums. If we have to live with guns, you are going to have to rack a round each time you shoot to slow yourself down, or reload a revolver between 6 rounds. Is that something that could at some point come down the pike?
What I would like you to explain is what does "semi auto box fed guns that can shoot 200 rds a min, and 100 round drums" have to do with the CT Shooting?
Your buddies are wrong. The Firearms Freedom Act, which is now law in eight States, specifically exempts firearms, firearm accessories, and ammunition from all federal laws and regulations if the firearm, a firearm accessory, or ammunition is manufactured wholly within a given State for use in that State.
In Wyoming they took their Firearm Freedom Act a step further, allowing for the arrest and incarceration of any federal law enforcement officer attempting to impose federal law or regulation upon these protected State manufactured firearms, firearm accessories, and ammunition.

If you don't tell anyone, but if you build a full auto weapon[ I don't know about Alaska, Alaska is like an 80 yo old woman, every one knows about her but not many want to visit.] If you get caught your going to jail 10years 100k Lets see some idiot in one of these states build one and take it into the local ATF office and tell them about your stupid law, You will get a free pair on silver bracelets. If you read the case law, its been challenged in court won in the 9th CCOA and taken up by the supreme court that told the 9th to re-evaluate it. It was declared that the Federal gov has the right to regulate Marijuana that was intended for home use and not to leave the state, so a home made machine gun was no different. You will go to jail if you do this openly, your law is not worth the paper is written on. Maybe for toilet paper. For those reading this idiots rants don't try this at home kids.

It's not the gun, the knife, the poison, or the 2x4 with the nail in it, that is to blame, it's always the sick, demented, evil person that uses these, and other weapons and methods to commit crimes or murder other human beings.
I spent over 25 years in the military...I do know weapons
You know current weapons, and my point was not to say you know nothing about weapons, but that you likely don't know the history and development of the origins of the first assault rifle. How the Nazi leaders in R&D had to hide the development as something other than what it was because Hitler did not like the smaller close combat weapon and wanted longer range rifles bla bla bal, then when the leaders on the front in Russia asked for more of those machine guns, Hitler asked what they were talking about and gave in bla bla bal, and so the development of a middle of the road Ctg. in a selective fire weapon that was not a full battle rifle and not a sub machine gun, bla bla bla. The assault rifle, My point in all this is I know exactly what an assault rifle is but the definition has changed. So quit beating a dead horse. No one really cares about your narrow definition. And this was not a peeing contest to see who had the bigger Johnson. You completely missed the point rube.

This is a valid point, the thing is I can kill 20 people with a 2x4 with a nail in it from 20 feet with out a lot of effort. And its much easier to take a hit from that 2x4 and take down the attacker and just have a few stiches than to take a 5.56mm 55gr. round that moves at 3000fps or more rip through your body taking out everything in its path. most rifles including the 5.56 or 223 will go through not only one layer of standerd kevlar but front and back. Espically if you use a FMJ or one of the full copper bullets designed for max penetration. Not the same at all scooby.
The thing is that even people in the NRA want to do something about assault weapons. It looks like this guy did use a 30rd mag in an AR platform gun.
