Aren't you one of the people demanding new legislation? I'm pretty sure I've seen posts about it from you (if not, then I apologize). If you are, then it's you and the incessant demands for bad law that is good for the gun industry, not the death of an innocent.

In other words, if you and others like you were able to keep some perspective when a tragic event such as this unfolds, instead of letting your emotions completely take over your thought process, nobody would be concerned about new, bad legislation being passed. Elected officials generally tend to do what their constituents want, and if nobody wanted these bad laws, they wouldn't be passed. It's that simple.
Let me guess... your only proposals are that we: (1) pretty much indiscriminately distribute more guns to everyone else who doesn't yet have them, and (2) do nothing else and accept that two dozen kids get slaughtered every now and then for your "right" to buy dozens of assault rifles with no background checks at gun shows.

Start by removing the "gun free zone" designation. That's the #1 best thing you can do. Obviously, the sign on the front door isn't stopping lunatics from entering with guns - maybe if the administrators had the ability to resist before the madman was able to reach an area with students, these things could be stopped before they start.

In case you didn't notice, criminals don't follow laws, and no amount of bad legislation will ever keep them from getting guns. By passing bad laws, you're only affecting the law abiding. It's really very simple, and if you allowed yourself to draw conclusions using logic and reason, instead of raw emotion, you'd find it to be very clearly true.

More fantasies. The South said similar things about their God goven right to own slaves. For a region so steeped in God the South sure likes to maintain God less traditions. They'll be no Civil War because most of you arm chair revolutionaries are wimps.

Most likely, yes. Generally speaking, when a law is passed that bans something, existing somethings are grandfathered in.

Like I said...pretty hard to have a rational discussion with an irrational person. Thanks for providing proof at such a convenient time.

Do you disagree with my characterization of the pro-gun "arguments" that have flooded this board since Friday's massacre?

Exactly what would "background checks at gun shows" have accomplished here? Even at gun shows, guns sold by FFL licensed dealers (who are the vast majority of the sellers at such shows) have to do a background check on every sale. And by the way...Connecticut requires checks of all sales at gun shows, even private ones. So, just exactly what did that accomplish?

Gun Shows :: Connecticut Against Gun Violence (CAGV)

Most of the people bleating for more gun control laws have no idea what the current laws are.

More emotion based nonsense.

Should one of these be legal and the other illegal? Why or why not?

If you can't provide a answer with a foundation based in fact, then you shouldn't be making statements like the one you did above.

At least a crazed killer won't be coming after him, crazed killers only target the unarmed and defenseless.
