Huckabee's god is a mass murdering psychopath. If the Christian god was willing to murder an unknown number of innocent children with his rage induced global flood, what makes anyone think that he cares one bit about the lives of 20 others?

Now read back over the NT part about Herod killing children, not the God in the OT killing children part.....and get back to me.
People need to read about the binding of evil/sin to earth. Is it really any wonder why things are spiraling? Is it really any wonder why we have so many children suffering from mental disorders? What has changed in the last few decades to make people go crazy?
The Romans were the US of their age. Their spiral into amorality felled their civilization; ushering in the dark ages. History tends to repeat itself, and we are setting ourselves up for a massive fall.
No amount of gun control will "fix" this, because it's a human problem. If you can't "fix" the humans, you won't fix the violence.
Just to set the record straight, the Catholic church was wholly responsible for the Dark Ages, starting when the Christians came to town!

How about the way so many are looking forward to having the government replace traditional church-bound fulfillments? Protections from the 'ungodly' by the authority of the state, regulations like commandments to be followed arduously or penalized heavily over non-compliance? Literal worship of politicians no matter how haphazard their abilties & accomplishments, as long as the feel-good goodfeel rolls off unto the screen? Scientifical studies and polls meant to be taken as the utter truth, seminaries (colleges), many subsidized by the government by some way or another extolling the power of government and its duties to its citizens? Mass indoctrination to corporate pharmaceuticals to stave off 'evil' mental maladies, alarming how easy it is prescribed to children who grow up finding solace in dosages that will be provided by government financing.
And on and on...
St. Paul didn't just show up in Rome and convert the place overnight. This current metamorphisis is nascent, rooted in feudalism and vassalage and just more easy to maneuver about in today when so many have no faith in anything within certain affluence-based developed cultures. Enough history has occured so that it won't look like the previous attempts made by humans to create a more honest, less divine supernatural overseer (of what already was a metaphysical fictional simulacrum of parental guidance; god, creator.) based thouroughly on earthly people with down-to-earth spiritual-like needs revolving around a mundane faith of civic administrations, alotted personal spaces/benefits & needed political correctness to ease the typical frictions of human interactions.
It sounds cool to say that the government can solve everything, protect everyone, provide so much on behalf of so many, fulfill every pining wish & dream made a demand to be funded by taxation & enforced by however many state agencies. All this provided with a benevolent non-intrusive manner as befits a sage benefactor full of resigned duty toward its diminutive compulsory charges! But it allows people to feel as if they get something in return for their support by proxy vote and submitted taxes, fees, liens, fines... gives them a sense of cooperative power to be hard-fought over with 'unbelievers' who fight the same fight as they but are backwards, are 'heathens' without faith, faith in an overseer government that will protect as long as one complies & participates.
Secular liberal 'progressivism' is a religion in all but name. Thus far, as religion is currently defined. It has been and will be a curious evolution.
Oh. My. God! WHO teaches this ^^^^ kind of nonsense and who BELIEVES IT.
