Yeah. I'd have no issue with it at all.
In fact, it'd help me keep my guns out of my safe.
However, even the biometric safes fail quite a bit.
So the tech has to be there.
Well considering I use my guns for protecting my home and my family....
No, I'm not for new technology.. With new technology often comes initial failure rates or engineering flaws.
Get back to me when there is years of verifiable testing.
I have clammy hands at times... I like to wear hand protection when I shoot as do most people.. so what about that issue?
Me too!

If you think about it, there are probably several examples where people already "bet their life" on biometric authentification technology. Think about high security zones. Bank vaults. FBI. CIA. Etc.
I bet older "dumb guns" jam more frequently than this "smart gun" would ever jam (at least in terms of the technology is concerned... maybe they'd still jam as much as before for the same old mechanical reasons). All I ever hear about on the news is how guns have jammed at the wrong time.
I found this article from back in '00. Looks like some Canadian company was working with S&W on this very thing. Not sure what ever became of it probably never caught on.
It's a "fingerprint gun".... it only works if the licensed/registered owner is the one holding the grip. If we made ALL guns with this feature, Newtown wouldn't have happened and responsible gun owners would not have their 2nd Amendment rights infringed upon. Heck, even my crappy laptop that I'm using to write this has this technology built-in, so I know it's not that expensive. It's been 100% reliable every day for years. Think of the accidental kid deaths this could save.
I'm predicting that this will be near universal 15-20 years from now. Something like this just begs to be implemented on a wide scale.
