I see a lot of people trying desperatly not to answer the question. I think that is because you will not give up one bullet if it would save ten kids lives and you just don't want to say it because you know it will make you look hartless. I am not going to judge you. I think your doing that by yourselfs by not answering the question.
No I would not give up my semi-auto because the problem is not weapons or law-abiding gun owners. How about addressing the real issue, mental problems.
But, while addressing "mental issues" we'll have to address...."why" you mentally feel you need a firearm to protect yourself.
It's sad, that people like the OP will use a horiable tragedy like this to forward an agenda....
Sounds like some of you are getting scared and a little desperate. We've had four mass shootings in the last year alone. At what point, in your mind, does talking about that fact and possible solutions move from an "agenda?" A week ago 27 people were murdered, including 20 first graders--when are we SUPPOSED to talk about it?
Say I gave them up to save a bunch of kids and then I bought some more after they were safe. Would death come looking for them like in those Final Destination movies?

Again its dodging the question. The question is not what is at the root of the problem or what is the cause or are video games more at fault bla bla bla. The question is if you knew for a fact that a ban on assault weapons would save one 5 year olds life would you give them up? I did not ask you to qualify it or say it would or would not work. You just can't answer because you know you would not do the moral thing. How about all you gun people who are bible thumpers, WWJD if he knew that an assault weapon ban would save one child, would Jesus give them up?
So what your saying is if it was your kids, or maybe your familys kids, you would give them up. If it was someone you could give a rats rear end about you would not give them up. Or is it if they are black or hispanic kids they are not worth what a white kid is worth. Come on give it up what is that sick point of view?
Now the truth comes out.....lol....what a troll...................
Whats your real resaon for this thread? Someone who really cared about kids would not wait till such tradgey happened to start threads like this....as you have

It should always be talked about.....that's what you people on the left DON'T do.....you wait until something like this happens and then it's talked about......
Who said, never let a tradgey go to waste? Sums up this thread also....

I honestly think that some of you are sure that there's some kind of secret conspiracy by the government to take away all of your weapons so they can come in with black helicopters and tanks to lock you up in a concentration camp--it's all been planned out by communist/socialist/dictator Obama. What really scares me is that people like some of you really do have access to assault weapons, and it makes the case for stronger mental health screening before weapons purchases just as much as sick kids shooting up schools and movie theaters.
