This might be too controversial, but I will ask anyway,
Are there any Democrats who supported President Obama in the 2012 election who are still against gay marriage.
I believe that President Obama was the only logical choice, but I also believe that he still believes that marriage is between one man and one woman. I choose to agree with this assessment.
Does anyone else agree that, politics aside, we are best served by a Democratic president, but that marriage is also by definition between one man and one woman?
If this topic is too controversial for this forum, then I do apologize. I believe this is a fair question to ask.

This is a very odd question... or at least construction of one.
I'm not going to try to account for all the individual views...
but aside from the religious blacks I can't think of any *group* who would be
both against gay rights and would support the Dem candidate.

I think it's mostly just an artful and politically motivated phrasing on Obama's part.

The only people I know who are against legal civil marriage rights for gays...
hold those views because of preference for their notion of what church marriage means to them.
(They miss the point)

I think you'll find that most anti gay marriage people are anti-Obama, or vice versa.

I believe he has changed his mind...unlike Republicans HE is capable of learning and moving forward...

"Still" against? That was an oddly phrased question.
I was never against gay marriage and have always been an Obama supporter.
gay marriage passed by 5 points in Minnesota when obama won the state by 7+ points likewise in maryland, so there are people who support obama but dont support gay marriage.

Being that gay marriage really was the wedge issue in 2012, I doubt there are that many. There are probably some, but in 2012 gay marriage was a huge driving issue especially for Obama supporters, not so much for Romney supporters. There were probably more people who support gay marriage but voted for Romney than there are people against it who voted for Obama.
It's so like Obama to never to stick his neck out for his base voters. The man simply would not come around on gay marriage until he was certain public opinion made it politically safe for him to do so.

I think it's ridiculous something so important comes down to something so trivial, but yes, of course there are plenty of Democrats of all races who are anti gay-marriage. It's not as if that's the only thing dividing the two...yeah I'm sure many would switch over JUST for that one issue, what a simple-minded way of thinking.
Well I love gays because I am a San Franciscan.
