That was as stupid as anything I've heard from the right. That's like saying "everyone has the choice of being wealthy" as if it's that easy. By this logic, all we need to do is tell all poor people "go get some money!" Basically your statement is a contradiction to itself, because only the wealthy have access to guarded schools. I'm guessing that you are/were one of those.
This is the stupid response I expect from the extreme extreme left. Just because I have a steady job you consider me wealthy. You put up barriers for yourself, fall into the welfare system and then complain that you don't have any opportunity. It's real simple. Work hard at getting an education and then work hard at your career. It worked for Obama, it can work for you.
Anyone can get where they need to be to have access to these schools if they wanted to.

Clovis Unified School District has established a school district police department in CA. 1 of 14 districts to do so.
It's so ironic that many now feel that school funds should be spent in arming guards at schools. We're so focused on a policing solution for a problem, instead of looking more at prevention. One shared factor amongst many of the school shooters is that they were bullied. We don't know about Adam Lanza but I wouldn't be surprised if he was. Maybe we should look into making greater efforts to reduce bullying, and improve community mental health resources rather than picking up more guns.
Homeschool the two girls. There's plenty of teachers looking for work and leaves eleven gun toters looking for work. Should make *******s ecstatic. And David Gregory can find his own protection for his kids.
First of all the 11 guards aren't just for the Obama girls, they guard the entire school which is a school for kids with high profile parents. Second of all, what you're suggesting is that we should turn the children of presidents into prisoners for 4 or 8 years, don't let them out to interact with kids their own ages. It's hard enough to get good people to run for the office as it is, what you're suggesting would make it even harder.
Everyone has the option to send their kids to a guarded school. Big deal.
Someone as opposed to the Second Amendment as Obama is, should not have the option of a guarded school, nor should the agents around him be armed. Or are you admitting that Obama is a hypocriit? Or an elitist who views himself and his own family as special and deserving of protection while the little people are to be defenseless?
In fact, they don't need as much protection, because if Obama's kids were kidnapped, the entire CIA, FBI, Navy Seals, Army Rangers ect. would end up being dedicated to getting them out safe, because he tells them what to do.
If your kids were kidnapped and held hostage for ransom, you would get maybe a SWAT team if your lucky.

And why are the lives of "high profile" types any more valuable than anyone else's? Obama is a superb hypocrit -- he obviously believes in the elite having weapons for protection, he views himself and his children as some kind of aristocrats whose lives are to be protected but to hell with the lowly peons.
If there were an honest bone in Obama, he would have those guards and his security agents unarmed. Just like he insists on the people having no protection.

I don't know where you are but often the FBI is involved and Amber alerts go out and many resources are given to kidnappings.
Somehow a SWAT team doesn't sound like the right law enforcement response to me.
