Just WHEN has Obama EVER stated people who can afford it shouldn't send their kids to private schools?

You think poor kids deserve less than Obama's spoiled brats?

What the hell would trained and armed soldiers DO all day at a school? You guys realize we DON'T actually live in a world where our schools are being attacked by an enemy right? Crazy people do crazy things ALL OVER.

Then Joe Schmoe can get his kids enrolled into a school like Sidwell Friends. Schools like that are quite happy to give financial aid for poor kids who pass their enrollment criteria - Sidwell does so for roughly 1/4 of their students. Although again, their security force won't do much against an armed gang looking to kill or kidnap someone in any event. And in any event, congress has determined, long ago, that the family of the president needs Secret Service protection regardless of where they attend, so if you have a problem with it, talk to your congressmen, and quit whining about it as if it's somehow an example of how awful Obama is.

Come up with a solution of how to pay for security in all public schools.

One solution might be to assign the U.S. military to provide security in public schools, and it would become a federal expense rather than a state or local expense.

It would help guarantee a high level of readiness by these guards, since training would be done at a U.S. military training school, and not at some local security guard school.

Then if a national crisis broke out, these soldiers would already be enlisted and ready to serve. Otherwise, they would be paid government employees performing a useful service to the nation.

It seems that whenever this type of crisis occurs, it becomes a national tragedy, so it seems like a federal solution would make more sense than a state or local solution.

Then we could hold our federal government accountable if a public school did not receive an adequate level of protection.

I think disgruntled students might think twice before acting if they knew the U.S. military was guarding the school and not some local security guard, or retired police officer.
Newsflash it's not the federal government's responsible to protect schools. That what you have LOCAL GOVERNMENTS FOR.

It's a Private School for crying out loud. Private as is parents pay tuition and tuition is used to pay for whatever. You act as if a Presidents child (or any other politicians child for that matter) has never attended the school in the past.

I am so glad this was posted prior to Jan 1 because it's definitely a strong contender for "Dumbest post of the year".
