What about all the other variables. Apart from Oslo, there are no really big cities in Norway. Sure there are other cities, but they'd be considered pretty small by american standards...Rural areas tend to have lower crime after all, big cities, not so much, regardless of racial demographics.

The USA white offender murder rate is 4.5 or 5 depending on the year. Likely went down recently. So

1/5th is a conservative estimate.

The relationship between raw population is just way too disparaged. (5 million in Norway to 300+ million in America)

It's a skewed measure.

Not true. He has a 21 year sentence with the addition of an indeterminate penalty extendable for preventive detention.

Which has not been exercised since 2002.

If he is a model citizen, he is getting out at 21.. and possibly after 10... a guy who killed 76 people will very likely be walking after 10 years.

Japan has 127 million people and a murder rate 2/3 of Norway at .4 per 100,000. So think of another excuse.

They don't lock and throw away the key in Japan.
