Ridiculous. Minorities aren't only voting for Obama because of race, they also voted heavily Democratic before he came on the scene. If the Republicans put forward Herman Cain and the Democrats put forward a Bill Clinton, Bill Clinton would get plenty of votes from non-whites. Fact is, people who become presidents are those who have had lots of opportunities, and people from white families that make up the historic elite will continue to have advantages that will help them reach the halls of power in numbers enough that some will be very capable and popular and end up on the ballot. People will vote for strong candidates who appeal to them and they will get elected.
Also, why do you exclude Hispanic whites? How are they not white?
Hispanics used to be white but they aren't white now that affirmative action and racial preferences are in vogue. They're every bit as eager as blacks areti for their race-based preferences and the "hipsanic" race only began after affirmative action was in place.
Hispanics are white, except when it fits the OPs agenda, then they're whatever he/she wants them to be.
Oh get off your high horse for a minute...I dont make the census definitions...theyre either white or theyre not. For you to simply say they 'are white' as a universality is demonstrably untrue, otherwise hispanics of any race would all add up to the 'white' figure in a census. But they dont, they consist of all races...You dont see a big breakdown of the vote with German white, Italian white, serbo croat white, do you?
Obama's mother is White, doesn't that make him White, or I guess he's not White enough, one drop rule right?
I doubt it. Jeremiah Wright wouldnt think so at least...and he has even fairer skin than Obama. Its an interesting point though. In Haiti I understand the ruling class are mostly mixed race, and resented by the black lower class. Its completely conceivable in the future people of Obama's skin tone will be hated by full blooded blacks too, as america goes further down the disturbing road of racialized politics.
