Look at the whole interview...he says the Democrats don't believe in math fiscally (he has Obama's number alright)...he also praises Rubio, Christie, and Paul Ryan as great future potential presidents.
P.S. I like him and there is some truth about the GOP being torn apart by the ultra-social conservatives.
Neither of them believe in "Math" Not since Eisenhower.
gop does believe in math- spend what u have but when its gone- stop. but dem clearly won. dem left the dealership with tax hikes and nothing more than a promise to cut spending later.
. dems clearly won this round, but the path only leads to a dooms day delayed.
no balanced budget going on year #4.

No, the philosophy of the Republican Party is spend what you have on defense contractors and wars, then borrow some more, and when the debt triples, provide a tax cut to the wealthiest Americans.

It would be nice to see a real conservative win! Any combo off the above is fine.
Considering how many of even those guys are still in bed with the social conservatives, it kinda makes me wonder what y'all consider a ''real'' conservative?!
John Huntsman is devoid of conservative credo. That's why he doesn't have a future in the GOP. I expect this douchebag to convert to a Democrat any day now.

You are right he isn't bat**** crazy.
Huntsman’s tax reforms included $110 million in income-tax cuts, and would mandate a state-wide flat income-tax rate. Sales and food taxes were slashed too. The deal included tax credits aimed at attracting new business development, including mining....The Cato Institute ranked Utah top in the nation for tax policy after Huntsman’s reforms.
Huntsman may be the pro-life cause’s most accomplished executive. He signed bills banning second-trimester abortions, reclassifying third-trimester abortions as a third-degree felony, and requiring abortion providers to explain the pain unborn children can experience during abortion. He signed a trigger law that would ban abortion outright if Roe is overturned. He opposes embryonic stem-cell research. And by establishing a state legal fund to defend these laws, he showed willingness to uphold state prerogatives.
Huntsman expanded the rights of Utah gun-owners, abolishing some concealed-carry restrictions and allowing for more transport of firearms on Utah’s roads. He even signed a bill that would grant small-game hunting licenses to children under 12.
Nearly 70 percent of Utah’s land is owned by the federal government, and Huntsman’s administration routinely fought alongside business interests in his state against the Interior Department and environmental groups to develop Utah’s energy economy.
One of the odder accomplishments of Huntsman’s Utah administration was the reform of the state’s liquor laws...The governor took dozens of meetings with business members and ecclesiastical authorities, hammering the message that this was a lost economic opportunity.
In The American Conservative magazine, Michael Brendan Dougherty wrote, "For the past two decades a 'moderate' Republican was one who generally didn't side with his party on three issues: taxes, guns and abortion. Huntsman's record on those isn't just to the right of other moderates, it is to the right of most conservatives."
His centrism is mostly a matter of temperament. His record in office stands up well by conservative standards. He pushed through big cuts in income and sales taxes. He cut state employees' retirement benefits.

It is funny what some call conservative like Santorum supporters they just ignored he was right there raising the debt ceiling 6 times. Was right there on Medicare part D that was unfunded and right there getting his palms greased on K street with Delay. And was right there running up the debt during the Bush years.
Then you have these same [so called} conservatives that flocked to the polls and voted for Romney who passed gun control measures and then snub there noses at Huntsman who expanded 2nd amendment rights in his state. Some on this forum would n't know a conservative if they were smacked in the face by one.

Thats probably 'cuz the reasonably sane ones like Huntsman and Daniels tend to come from the better edu-macated parts of the country... while the rest, not so much.
