Yes, kids should not be allowed to play with toy weapons. They should all be forced to wear unitards, dry hump teletubby dolls, and sing songs about Barack Obama every day.
Because they're stupid, and think that Obama is gonna snatch all their guns ..... just like they thought at the beginning of his first term.
We know that Feinstein has tried for years and years to ban guns and now she thinks she is there with Obama in support. He had to wait until his reelection before he took a chance. He and his Feinstein people will make a very stern attempt this time around.
Hard call. People with "toy" weapons have been shot by police because they look realistic. I don't think anyone is going to take the time to ask if it's real or not so you have to weigh the benefit against the risk. We know the risk so what's the benefit?
Yea. It happens hundreds of times a day.
Lesson....don't point anything at a cop....or anyone else.
When I was growing up in the 50's and early 60's I loved to watch 'The Lone Ranger' and 'The Roy Rogers Show' and loved to play 'Cowboys and Indians' and Army. My father was a WW2 and Korean War infantry veteran who taught me how to shoot at age 6. I would invite friends over and we would have a field day in the back yard playing Army with toy guns and other military stuff my father brought home from overseas. We had his army tents we would put up like a fort and just had a grand time. We had the little plastic green army men we would set up and play with. We would also dress up like cowboys and Indians, wear holsters with cap guns and point and shoot at each other. Now I read this story of a 6 years old kid who was suspended from school by making a gun pose with his finger and thumb pointing it at somebody like he would shoot them in a play like fashion.............like we did as kids. Is this going to far? Do you think political correctness has gotten so out of hand that NOW we must refrain our kids from playing 'Cowboys and Indians', Army and 'Cops and Robbers' with toy guns and such like we did as kids?
Hello Old Army Soldier, I'm an old Navy sailor. I too grew up in the 50's and early 60's. I used to watch The Lone Ranger, Roy Rogers, the Cisco Kid, Highway Patrol, M-Squad and other "violent" shows. Boy, did it ever ruin me for life. I'm now retired and do volunteer work at nursing homes, churches, and veterans hospitals. This crazy, politically correct crap about those shows turning innocent kids into killers is more of a fairy tale than my old sea stories. I also used to watch Popeye beating up Bluto, and watch Elmer Fudd, Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, and the like beating up on each other. How criminal for our parents to allow us to watch that terrible stuff. I love my country, but parents need to realize, it is not up to so-called experts nor the government to raise their kids. Like in the 50s, parents need to be the number one deterrent to their kids growing up to be killers. Stupid "experts" want to use the media as a scapegoat for all the wrongs in the world. By the way, I envy you in that your dad had army tents for you to use. We made our forts out of cardboard boxes and apple crates. Yes sir, we cap pistol killed many an *****, Nazi, and robber. (Ooops! Did I just say something that was politically incorrect?)
