Sometimes heart breaking thing's occur, just maybe it's to open up other's eye's to be thankful what they have. I suppose God just needed a few more angel's. We are not suppose to question God's decision's. Although you say that you don't believe in God, it's good to know that you have a heart. I hope God send's you a miracle someday. How do you explain what happened?
Peace be with you.

I agree; when tragedy strikes, I find myself saying "he, she, or they were the chosen ones".....We all have a NUMBER that has been assigned to each and everyone of us and when our NUMBER is up, it's up!!

Was anybody else upset to see the funeral procession on the news? All they asked was for their privacy to be respected. I was very upset to see the footage and a line of journalists along the street.

I was upset also, but if the people didn't want to see it the press would not be there. Sad but true.

YES they should have been left alone. I know they don't even like their picture taken. It was upsetting to me too. But what a story of forgiveness they are giving the world.

This tragedy has upset me so much. I can't even image what these peaceful families are going through. When we were watching the newbreak, at the telling of this event I looked at my boyfriend and said, because of their faith and relationship with God and because of their beliefs they will forgive this man, and indeed according to news reports that night one of the grandfathers went to this man's wife and told her they had forgiven this man. The leaders of this Amish community also invited her to the funreals and asked that a fund also be set up for her and her children. I can only say that the actions of the Amish are truly amazing and regretfully I know I would not be so forgiving, these families will be in my prayers for a long time to come.

Maybe not right away, but you would be able, tarheel. Just from my own experience, I can tell you that you don't hold onto the anger. If you do, you are only hurting yourself. You find strength and you keep your loved one alive in your thoughts. You don't have room for those wonderful thoughts if your mind is consumed with the person that did the crime. You realize you have to let it go of the anger.

I am so glad that I teach mine at home, but I don't for a second forget about everyone who sends theirs to a public/private school to learn. My neices and nephews... All children... I never set out to homeshool (9 yrs ago) for safety issues... It simply worked so well for our family situation, but now.. Well, it's so sad.

So many of you took the words right out of my mouth.

ILOVENORTHCAROLINA, Marks, and grammy164... Your thoughts are mine.

"Forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us..."

If that man had forgiven himself and others, he would not have been full of hate. Some things are too broad to understand. The Amish parents are leading by example. Amazing, courageous, admirable, wonderous example!
(I too, hope the press leaves them alone.)

Not that this is in any way, shape, or form "about me" but,
I know- I'll ever forget this tradgedy.

Take Care Everyone.

God's ways are hard to understand. It has brought together all of us to reflect and love a childs life even more. Its even caused an atheist to use His name and reflect (pray). strange indeed.
