If you wish to pucker the sphincter of your public "servants", write a polite letter asking them to explain exactly WHAT revenue taxable privilege you are exercising that incurs an income tax on your wages.
And remind them that governments instituted to secure rights, have no delegation of power to tax or otherwise infringe rights.
And remind them that you were endowed with the right to life and the right to defend that life from your Creator, not the government.
And since they have no legal obligation to protect you, and you cannot sue government for failure to protect, any legislation that infringes upon YOUR right to defend your life and property will be viewed with displeasure.
And if they don't shape up, you will cease consenting to be a taxpayer and contributor to the public debt.
....
That should do enough damage.
How about this? The anti gunners like to claim that the 2nd amendment is outdated because the founders couldn't have envisioned modern arms.
So................
Then can we say that the 1st amendment is outdated because the founders couldn't have envisioned internet, TV and film? So given that maybe we should place restrictions and bans on certain media and entertainers? Maybe certain entertainers should go through a finger print, a mental test, and register themselves wth the government?
You might be on to something.... I think we all might need to learn How To live in the late 18th century, in which case no one will have any electricity and we will all need to lean how to make quill pens
So the portrayal of violence in movies, games, music etc. has ZERO cultural impact on people to influence them to immitate what they see, resort to violence etc?
There have been studies on this....and um, during the Clinton presidency this was pushed with regards to adding parental advisories to music, video games and expanding the movie ratings.
You don't remember that?
Oh sure it does...... i saw Hawkeye run down a deer in Last of the Mochicans so i tired to do it too, and it worked!
When you're glorifying gun violence to line your own pockets I think you need consider what you may be doing to contribute to the issue, don't you think?
Having said that I don't necessarily buy into the violence in movies and games leads to more violence. The issue I see is the hypocrisy, Hollywood needs to clean up its own act before it starts pointing fingers at others.
Google something about Lt. Col (ret) David Grossman and read something of what he says about the effect of violence on TV and especially on games. He swears that gangs like some of those especially of the Hispanic variety who are beginning to get in with jihadists and will soon be attacking in more schools than one a day to convince us that we must accept them, are using violent video games to train their new killers.
Now Grossman probably doesn't know much since he has spent all his time since 1998 training military and police people to do something that none of us are born to do. That would be killing since so many of us just can't do that. I think that Grossman is doing a lot to effect what is going on these days but then I listened to him talk for over 30 minutes on TV this afternoon.
Grossman suggests that people take a look at this web site to see what has been going on and what has always worked very well.
Guns don't kill people, fake guns and fake bullets on tv kill people.
Hit your head a little harder and maybe then you will get it. Hollywood needs to just shut up and act. They glorify violence and sex and profit highly from it. They have no business putting out the video they did or speaking out on much of what they do speak out on. They are nothing but hypocrites.
