Thanks.

I'm soooo glad my parents raised me right, because I'd hate to be as close-minded as the OP (and his cohorts). Looking at that behavior from the outside, it seems like a rather unpleasant way to live.

LGBT is standard term for that community. No one says quierdos or lesbos. Why are you so obnoxiously offensive? And no I do not live in any of the above cities, although I would like to.

Not really. For one thing it's not a "lifestyle," it is a sexual orientation... since even a virgin can identify as homosexual, how do you figure it's a lifestyle or behavior? It's also not unnatural by scientific definition, seeing as it's a natural variation of sexuality seen in many species.

You're right that it's not the "norm" to be gay, if we're talking statistically, but I'm not sure what that has to do with anything. I'm not the "norm" as a redheaded Jewish woman, and the government isn't trying to restrict my rights or treat me as second-class. Not anymore, at least.

They preach "Tolerance but have none for opposing views/opinions. Wlecome to Amerika!!! By the way, please don't equate the African-American civil rights struggle to the homosexual rights struggle. You are doing an extreme disservice to the African-Americans.
Martin Luther King Jr's wife equated the two. We can equate the two if we darn well please.

"Unnatural"?

What a lazy and foolish claim.

What's natural? Do you think blood transfusions or eyeglasses are 'natural'? How about being propelled at 70mph down a road in a steel/plastic/glass/rubber box power by sustained explosions derived from the distillate from the residue of long-dead plants and animals?

And you have no problem with any of those things, which simply demonstrates that you have no problem with anything that is 'unnatural' (whatever, precisely, that means, and regardless of whether or not what you claim to be so in fact is so).

You're peddling some seriously feeble and inept 'logic' here, all because you don't like gays but desperately want to be perceived otherwise. You've got some serious issues, pal.

That's what they used to say about left handedness. But then, fear subsided, and we evolved.

My grandfather (along with the majority of my family) was lefthanded, and when he was in school back in the 1920's, they'd hit his hand with a ruler if he used the left one. He was a stubborn man, though, and just learned to be ambidextrous instead.

I love when people ask that, like they have any right to tell us/you what to equate (especially if theyr'e the type who will turn around & say something REALLY offensive about gays). And if they don't want us to equate the two, they might want to stop using the same exact arguments against them.

I'm gay and I like it when social conservatives get outraged. It exposes them for the ninnies that they are.

As you observed, in days gone by, it was "okay", indeed pretty much the default position to be at least somewhat homophobic. The idea of gay marriage was so unpopular that discussing it would have been pointless.

But, today, the number in favor of it has risen to roughly half the population, and it's starting to become law. Meanwhile, people who, like you, have spent your entire lives assuming homosexuals were, at best, second class citizens are having a collective freakout and "WTF???" moment.

Of course, as older folks die and as those in favor goes from 50 to 55 to 60% and higher, it will cease to be controversial, it will just be "normal" and there will no longer be a reason to discuss it.
