The real question is this: Why is contributing to the general welfare of the entire nation considered a "punishment" to your side?
When only the so-called rich "contribute", then it is punishment. Why isn't EVERYONE contributing to the general welfare of the entire nation? Especially those that TAKE from it the most.
Before we can establish a reasonable tax system we must consider all income from all sources to be the same. We need to eliminate income catagories free of taxation.
