People making $90K per year, which is your $150/month are not going to be impacted.

You're a math teacher for crying out loud and you're using numbers to promote FUD.

Median income is $43K/year which amounts to $72/month or $18/week.

I think I could get behind the liberals more if they weren't so bad at math and so completely disingenuous.

Even one ounce of consistency would take the bitter taste of liberal away.

I'm paying about $60 more per Month in Social Security taxes. Honestly, it is not going to hurt me terribly but still I will be upping my Federal exemptions to make up for it. I'll save the extra money and take care of my tax shortage in 2014.
Hopefully I'll also be able to expand my tax-free income during the year.

What was the extra you took when you got that money 2 years ago ?

How can people become dependent on something that was temporary ?
It was supposed to expire last year. It was a one time, one year deal.
Granted it got extended for one year but still, it was temporary.

Obama never said it was "forever"..he said one year.

So when the tax vacation went into effect you took on MORE BILLS?

Didn't everyone get the message that the cut was temporary, and not an invitation to take on higher monthly bills?

the real sad thing is most people don't know the "payroll" tax is their Social Security.

Obama changed the words so people wouldn't understand he was DECREASING the amount of money being collected by Social security.
You think this will keep SS from going bankrupt. Delusional, for sure.

Are you shocked? This is what happens when you give Americans a "gimmie".

Rather than do something sensible with that money, most people blew it and then counted on it. Granted, I haven't had a raise in over 3 years and, yes, everything else went up (but my salary) so conceivably I can see that people used the "holiday" tax relief just to cover basic necessities like health insurance premiums and an increasing food bill.

Even with that, read the news, learn what's going on, and know that some things are not permanent so you need to allow for that. Bush Tax Cuts were temporary too and I always knew that someday they *might* expire. They didn't but the other one did. Oh well. Can't be bitter about these things.

And now I understand why Congress will not go near any of the means tested programs and will not cut one penny from them. We would have riots in the streets.

Stop being drama queens.

At $90K per year, that's chump change, and will only cut into their entertainment/dining out/recreation expenses.
So what is your point exactly? After someone hits a certain income level, they are no longer entitled to the money they earned?
