Excuse me for not reading all the blah blah blah, but there's a simple solution to this problem. Tell your damn kids to recite whatever prayer you think is important, if any, during their free time. Which is quite adequately abundant, from what I remember of school.
We don't need the Thought Police working on tax dollars they STOLE from the citizens, to tell us what to worship. We don't need the extra expanded govt that would require.
I watched the memorial ceremony for the Sandy Hook victims (the one Obama attended) and there were representatives of many faiths offering their prayers to their respective gods.
As for that picture of the fireman, how do you know they were christian? Maybe they were four Jewish fireman.

Before everyone gets paranoid, this country was founded by Christians has always been a Christian dominant society so I don't see what's the problem? If people would stop trying to make everybody connivance all the time ! Do you think if I move to Iran they'll stop praying to the east three times a day just so I can have my Sunday in church there?
The problem is that we are not a theocracy, and not everyone is christian. Prayer in school forces everyone to follow a christian rite. Keep prayer out of school, it is a private issue, the same as religion. Separation of church and state. Want your kids to pray in school, put them in a christian school.

Say that to the muslims who are implementing their religion in schools.

Muslims are free to practice their religion in school, as are Christians. Muslims aren't free to compel others to practice Islam, in schools or otherwise. And Christians aren't free to compel others to practice Christianity, in schools or otherwise.
As you pointed out in your OP, the majority of the United States identify themselves as Christians. Why are Christians, then, so afraid of any other religion being practiced?
