How any gay person can be a Republican is beyond comprehension.

Quote:
"There is a movement on to normalize pedophilia, and I guarantee you your reaction to that is probably much the same as your reaction when you first heard about gay marriage. What has happened to gay marriage? It's become normal -- and in fact, with certain people in certain demographics it's the most important issue in terms of who they vote for. So don't pooh-pooh. There's a movement to normalize pedophilia. "

If Limbaugh had a brain, he would be dangerous...

Rush is a boil on the taint of humanity. Somebody should lance it already.

If his fans had brains, they would be dangerous, actually, they wouldn't be his fans.

While they are far from equivalent things, I do find it interesting to remind supposedly liberal people who huff and puff about how much they despise "sex offenders", that private adult homosexual relations were a criminal act in over a dozen states less than ten years ago.

Default Brit sociologist, other scholars, liken homosexuality to pedophila

Paedophilia: bringing dark desires to light | Society | The Guardian

I know there is another thread on this but I wanted to get into the substance, rather than bash a talk host over an article (the above link) which he was merely passing along. Those who prefer yet another 'bash Limbaugh, bash Palin' thread can go back to the other thread.

It is really a pretty interesting (albeit disconcerting) article. I'm surprised to hear some of the stuff that is coming out of Canada and Britain. The article quotes Sarah Goode, a 'senior lecturer at the University of Winchester and author of two major 2009 and 2011 sociological studies on paedophilia in society.'

In another quote she says that "[a]dult sexual attraction to children is part of the continuum of human sexuality; it's not something we can eliminate..." But it must be noted that she does not appear to advocate allowing pedophila to be practiced, calling it "intrusive behaviour that violates the child's emerging self-identity."

This is something that's coming from serious academics, not Rush Limbaugh. It deserves something more than yet another lefty troll-baiting session from HuffPo, Media Matters, and their flying monkey armies.

Fixed it for you.

I guess you need to add that thought, to the long list of things that are beyond your comprehension.

Mostly. But even my deep blue state of Michigan never repealed its "crime against nature" statute.

I just dislike the charactization that as a gay person, you can't hold onto certain republican principles (which indeed you can and which are actually rooted in solid principles, particularly with respect to fiscal conservatism). Everything has become so black and white, so blue and red.

As a matter of fact the characterization is almost as bizarre as Limbaugh's
