the US should be the country others want to emulate. we need to go back to a time when we had the best education system in the world, as well as the most freedoms.
We should be ourselves with more efficient social programs and medicine and stronger free markets, i.e. cut the cord of all of the parasitic unions and corporations that drain money from our federal, state, and local governments.

Unions are not the problem. The problem are union bosses that sold out to Wall St., and Wall St. banks and hedge funds.

Aka the New Deal/Great Society era.
Viking, why are you flooding this thread with youtube videos? Media culture has nothing to do with how great the US is, or was. That's all popular culture

If you find the United States is fundamentally flawed, what other nation should we emulate?
(NOTE: I am not saying "America: Love it or leave it! I am simply asking what other nation is your idea of what the United States should be).
Example - You think "neo-cons" are a nefarious influence in the U.S. What nation(s) have no neo-con influences?
I don't think the USA should emulate any other nation, but we can always learn how to improve our public policies by researching what other countries are doing.
We need to be more like Saudi Arabia to make the Conservatives in this country happy.
