People in NY are being told to turn in their guns or prove they're no longer in the city or face arrest, a short step from the police coming to the door to arrest them.

What happens when people are forced to register their firearms? Eventually government comes to take them.

CA is going after people who legally owned firearms, then did something (convicted of a crime, mental problems etc) and lost their right to own them and shouldn't currently own firearms. How did they get the list? Firearms registrations. And what happens when one of these crazy gun bans actually makes it into law? Everyone who registered is now on the "Armed and Prohibited Persons" list and lined up for a visit from a SWAT team.
