And it was at one time in America until the government got involved.
I was a college student and had insurance with Blue Cross/Blue Shield and was affordable.
The minute you subsidize something you let the cat out of the bag for price inflation because people then don't care how much something costs if they don't have to pay the full price.
Government seems to be good at that.
