Maybe the plan the OP wanted to "select" was no longer offered because the company that supplied it was driven out of business.

I think the OP needs to find out how much of his insurance premium his company picked up last year vs. this year. It's very possible the total premium went up only a little but the company is paying less than they did last year so the OP's share went way up. That happened to me a few years ago.

Health Insurance driven out of business? HeeeHaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa I've got a bridge to sell you. Assuming this insurance is a major player, they own congress.

Like defense? I know a veteran who is, by your definition, a dead beat. But he does pay taxes.
