No, I think you're full of it. What created the panic buying is the fact that your beloved leader has promised to ban things Americans enjoy. NY's recent law proves the fear was rightly placed.

What I wrote is 100% accurate. The US government has banned machine guns and you don't see them on the streets and people don't have them. The US government won't allow any citizen to have a rocket launcher, or a surface to air missile or biological weapons and citizens don't have them.
Again, if banning weapons meant that criminals would still get those weapons regardless then why don't criminals have tanks, and rocket launchers and machine guns, because the US government regulation of those dangerous weapons prevents them from getting in the hands of criminals.
So a ban on certain weapons is already working extending it to other weapons and vigorously enforcing the ban will work.
The problem is that gun nuts lie and say you can't keep weapons out of the hands of criminals when in fact the US government does keep all sorts of very dangerous weapons out of the hands of criminals right now.

In one breath he claims he supports the 2nd Amendment and in another breath, he pushes the failed Assault Weapon Ban. You know if the AWB was a great success, I may even support it but it's an epic fail.

No Chuck, the thread is about why people in the gun community or so afraid of Obama when he has been nothing but common sense and friendly towards gun owners.
He has a tough job, he is everyone's president, not just gun owners. Can you imagine the political pressure that is on him to do something about these mass shootings?

Okay.. believe what ever you want. Doesn't Mexico have some pretty strict gun restrictions on it's citizens ? Using your logic there should be ZERO gun violence in Mexico right ?
From what I have read these restrictions are pretty much just reinforcing present laws and re instituting a ban on assault weapons and high capacity mags that were put in place by previous GOP, NRA friendly presidents.
He's even going to offer federal money for armed guards in schools.
So why all the panic? All the Obama hysteria by the gun owners? Do they panic like this over other things in their lives?
Nutters on one side over-reacted thinking Obama was going to make major changes.
