His daughters' lives are at more risk than your typical citizen. Secret Service goes with the territory of being a high profile political family member. SS are federal law enforcement and thus are required to carry firearms.
Most people's daughters don't have entire online forums full of people dedicated to destroying their parents.
But... most civilian children have a much higher likelihood of falling victim to random acts of violence, while the president's daughters really do not.
So, I think it was a valid question. Do the president's daughters have some sort of immutable right to be provided armed protection while the general public does not?
