Yes... they definitely are using children as a human shield now...

I'd like to use Democrats as a human shield...literally...

Sandyhook was a tragedy to a very tiny part of the country, if the media didn't broadcast it 24x7 and some people try to exploit it for their own political goals 99.99% of children would never even hear about it, because in the real world it didn't effect them any more than the shooting in Norway did, or the killings in China.

The voice of children and liberals who are ignorant of the subject should be ignored. Do you make policy decisions based on what children think about global warming? Genocide in Africa? Speed limits on highways? Social Security tax increases? No because they don't know anything about it and their opinion really isn't relevant because they're children. Do you think they should be allowed to vote too?
That's right, 20 dead kids and 6 dead adults, no biggie. Move along, now.

IIRC, "writing a letter to the president" was a popular activity when I was a kid of 10 or so. Why shouldn't these kids be allowed to express their opinion? Letting them have a voice does not mean "we" have to agree with them. BTW, I sure remember a lot of kids at the Tea Party rallies, some of them not even old enough to read, carrying signs that said garbage like "you're stealing my future" and such.

What's with all the opinionated questions? A mental 20yo accessed guns through a felony (whether he cracked the lock on mom's safe or shot her first for access). Then proceeded with something that has never been dreamed up of following with his own life. Has nothing to do with children or firearms. Same week in China someone killed a bunch of people with knives. 6 billion people are going to produce outliers, some demons. Efforts should be spent on learning to protect yourself and the young ones from these demons and maybe one day we can figure out how to work around the ACLU and force help on those deemed dangerous (not yet demons).

Yes, it's so cynical to "use children" in the quest to stop children from being mass murdered by lunatics with conservative-enabled easy access to deadly weapons!

Conservatives don't care about some dead kids in a school. Guns are all that matters.

Actually, there were no deaths in the China attack.

Using more living children to suggest the population needs to be 'reminded and told'... of the preciousness lost in this last tragedy as a tool in persuasion would be an insult to the population not to be compared and, a pointed remark of severe lowness implied on the people.

also, the involvement and knowing of the horrific in life is something which adults are very careful to discuss and make known to youngsters.

its also important to keep your children away from adults who want to borrow them for their own notion as use-ables....some prudence would be required in the intended theme.

You have to move on....life continues and more people, even children, are going to die in the future.

There is no way to quantify how many lives will be saved with the measures being proposed now. And the cries for "more" will just get louder.

Is the issue children???

Of the 1,210 traffic deaths among children ages 0 to 14 years in 2010, 211 (17%) involved an alcohol-impaired driver
CDC - Impaired Driving Facts - Motor Vehicle Safety - Injury Center
Compare that to the amount of children involved in homicide by firearms in 2010

Quote:
Infants (under 1) - 5
1 - 4 years - 38
5-8 years - 33
9-12 years - 20
13-16 - 298 (let's scale that to match the age range to 150)

for a total 246

So..why aren't you screaming for an alcohol BAN? Because alcohol is already heavily regulated....

Maybe we need MORE alcohol regulation?? How has that worked out in the past??

Let's be consistent here.....

Using children as real life actors suggesting to them that it is their young minds that have discovered that the adult world they live in and need has not yet found a way to keep them out of harms way, in this known horrific setting and circumstance is a remark to the children that they are living in a boorish barbaric dark era of insanity.

to need to use children in order to create a resonance in agreement for support in an approach as an idea to keep them out of the gravest most unusual crime of destruction....would assume a lack of interest in finding a sure solution found in reason.

The answer is not any one mans answer or in the 'manipulative...but the found logical carefully planned approach in reason where all men join together allowing reason itself the crowning authority...this is true.
