Darn, I was so looking forward to it. What can I do to make it up to Santa, or Pat to get my sub reinstated?

Please. The ACLU pimps for aggrieved citizens. You know the type: "I'm not a Christian! I'm a Wiccan! You know, but no witches! Only good spells! I wear purple and no bra! Santa scares my little Demian! Sue Macy's for me! I need a new ringtone! Blessed Be!"

Well, some of us are trying to be "light-hearted" but it seems difficult.
Hope it doesn't degenerate to the point it went last time (in the gutter).

I have personally always had a problem with the phrase Happy Holidays, I think it takes away a lot of tradition in our country. We, as a country, have traditionally celebrated the Christmas holidays. Why this has to change moreso than ever is a bummer. I've talked to atheists, Jews, Muslums, etc who feel the same way.

Well I suppose if you were to offer me the full leather bound, gilded paged set of, The Silmarillion, The Hobbit and the Lord of the Rings compete set, I might be able to pull a few strings. I hear Santa is pretty reasonable, but Pat on the other hand... oh brother!
I guess I am lucky to live in a place where I can tell every single person I meet, Merry Christmas and not worry about offending anyone, talk about a load off.
btw, you really should check out the American Conservative mag, contrary to what many might think, there are some very good quality writers there putting out some worthy material. (even the stuff I don't agree with)
google, "crunchy con"

What about a 1st edition of Whitman?
I'll check it out...think I may have seen it around. And here, I am totally okay with Merry Christmas, and Happy Halloween. In fact, I am thinking orange decor, like pumpkins and some orange candy....and candles in the front porch window.

1st edition Whitman, oh heck yeah, for that I will have Santa host a party for ya and Pat Buchanan dressed as an elf serving the guest.
One of the downsides (and there are so very few) of living so remote is that in four years I have yet to even see the first trick or treater and even when I do decorate for the holidays, I usually only have about 10 cars a month pass by my place so, seems kind of pointless but makes me feel better.
I will start wearing my Santa hat here in another month and a half, and I look forward to getting a set of antlers on my hound dog this year. ( no no, no staples this year, they don't hold and only ticks the dog off)
I wonder if folks would think I were a hypocrite for telling them Merry Christmas when I am a non theist?

Well, I'll think on the Whitman....
But I will have to ask the neighbours about trick and treat(ers). I live on a road that although is rural as rural can be is also a back-road for some, and we have a fair amount of traffic during the day. And the grange is next door and I'm thinking some of the younguns might get off the school bus and love something orange.
I'll let you know about that, non-theisism and Whitman at the end of the month.
