Actaully this supposed "Jesus" wasnt even born on December 25th, Just ban this dumb holiday, the same crap starts every year, actually it is starting early, it usually happens after thanksgiving
And notice the instigating always happens from a Christian?

Look I'm on the non-believing end. But that are three reasons why I like X-mas.
1. I love all the grander of the decorations and the build up to the X-mas. I kind of exciting.
2. I like the Ideas of holidays in general. I like having days off from work. Granted the a lot of stuff is closed on X-mas. But I can still go to the movies and get Chinese food. On X-mas. So it isn't that bad.
3. If you use to work X-mas like I did, in my younger days. As I have to say it DOUBLE TIME PAY BABY!

I have personally always had a problem with the phrase Happy Holidays, I think it takes away a lot of tradition in our country. We, as a country, have traditionally celebrated the Christmas holidays. Why this has to change moreso than ever is a bummer. I've talked to atheists, Jews, Muslums, etc who feel the same way.

100% agree with you. I'm a practicing agnostic and have never been offended by someone saying Merry Christmas to me. I'm shocked and very sad, that this country does not celebrate the holidays in the fashion i remember them as a child. Where I live they do not even allow the children to celebrate Halloween, because it is seen as "offensive" to some peoples religion. The beauty of some of these holidays was the coming together of different Americans regardless of race, income, and religious background. Some of this PC crap really goes too far. If America falls it is going to be similar to the way the Roman Empire collapsed (allowing outsiders in and not forcing them to accept roman culture). I do not mind Easter, Xmas, and Halloween being celebrated by children in schools. I think if you move here whether you believe or do not believe in this stuff it is part of this countries fabric and you should celebrate it or shut the heck up and leave (just slightly kidding about the shut up part).

I find the irony rich that "christian conservative" types get offended that ACLU libs force their beliefs on them, and respond with militant "This is what you HAVE to say to me in December" proclamations.
You might as well start a thread about those a$$holes who say "good morning" instead of "how do you do?" because we of course are not "mourning" anything.
What kind of a jerk dictates what kind of polite greeting you can give people? And we wonder why folks don't seem as "nice" anymore?

Yup. Arrogance isn't exclusive to any group.

And I agree, screw those a$$holes who force others to give out the greeting they want us to give out.

Well, the conservative thing to say would be that you choose to work there and you are free to leave if you want. It is your place of work, you are contractually obligated to carry out your duties in the manner of their choosing. They are entitled to whatever comportment they require of their employees who in fact represent the company to the general public - be it a clean shaven face, uniform or the language you use when speaking to THEIR customers.

There's more than one holiday. Really why has logic been dismissed in favor of irrational contrived "issues"

I agree with ontheroad, this topic has already been discussed to death - on MORE than one thread. And I'm sure it'll come up again, once the holidays are near. You know what's weird? I'm Jewish, and totally sick of this debate... seems it's always Christmas celebrators & businesses bringing it up, when the rest of us couldn't give a patooty. Heck, I've been wished a Merry Christmas for 31 years, and it hasn't diminished my "Jewishness" any... so what's the big whoop? As another poster said, it's nice to get a pleasant greeting from anyone, no matter what their choice of words. So you all can say Merry Christmas to your heart's desire, and I'll respond with my usual "Merry Happy Chrismukwanzukahdan!"

I used to work for a retail store, and they told us how to greet customers & answer the phone. My last job included working with children, and they also gave us rules on what to say, wear, and so forth. Sorry, but that's just part of working for a business! You're still free to greet people with "Merry Christmas" on your own time, and I'm sure nobody would complain - even a Jewish person like myself, despite the fact that you'd be weirded out if I responded with "Happy Chanukah."
